If you’re presenting at an event, use the Presenter Center to see your sessions, read the organizer’s instructions, and keep your speaker details up to date. The Presenter Center is optional self-service for speakers and abstract submitters. Your event organizer installs it only when they want to offer this option, so whether you see it does not affect other ways to browse an event’s speakers and sessions.
Prerequisites
- You must be signed in to the Portal with an account linked to a contact.
- You need a speaker record for the event. If you do not have one yet, the page shows only the general instructions; contact your event organizer.
Open the Presenter Center
- Open the Presenter Center from the link your event organizer gives you.
- If you have not registered for the event yet, you will see this reminder: Heads up! It looks like you haven't registered yet for this event. Please proceed to registration to ensure access to the event. Select it to register.
- Review My Speaker Profile for your photo, name, organization, job title, city and state, and biography.
- Read the event’s presenter instructions farther down the page.
- Check the Sessions table for each session you are presenting at this event.
Result
You see your speaker details, the organizer’s instructions, and your sessions for this event in one place.
Update Your Speaker Details
The Edit My Speaker Info link appears on your profile only when the event organizer lets presenters update their own speaker details, and only before the deadline they set. If you do not see the link, the event is not accepting profile edits, or the deadline has passed. Contact your organizer if you need to make the change another way.
View and Edit Your Session
Select a session name in the Sessions table to open it. You see the session much like attendees do, including its name, date and time, location, description, other speakers, and attached documents.
Your event organizer chooses what presenters can edit for the whole event, so the options you see depend on those settings. When editing is allowed for you, the Edit Session Details button lets you change the session name, description, and any form fields your organizer added. When document management is allowed, you can also add or manage the session’s documents. If neither option is available, you can still view the session, but you will not see those buttons.
This access comes from an option in the event’s Abstract Settings that allows limited speaker session editing. When your organizer turns that option on, presenters can edit session information in the Portal. When it is off, the Edit Session Details button does not appear. The fields you can change come from a session page layout your organizer builds under Sessions › Session Page Layouts in the global Events setup and assigns in those same Abstract Settings. You see only the built-in and custom fields included on that layout.
Why You Might Not Be Able to Edit Something
- No Edit My Speaker Info link. The event does not allow presenters to edit their own profile, or the deadline for profile edits has passed.
- No Edit Session Details button. Your organizer decides for the whole event whether presenters can edit session details and manage documents, and whether that access extends to co-presenters or only the main presenter. If your event does not grant that access, or the deadline has passed, the button does not appear.
- No speaker record at all. If you do not have a speaker record for this event, the Presenter Center has nothing to show you for it. You may not yet be confirmed as a presenter, so check with your organizer.
If you cannot edit something here and need it changed, a Console user on your event’s staff can make the change instead. Event setup controls which Console users can access and edit the event: your organizer may allow every Console user, or restrict access to users with specific security roles.
