If you’re presenting at an event, the Portal may let you find your sessions, update their details, and manage handouts without contacting association staff. The association controls this separately for each session, so your access depends on that session’s settings rather than a general presenter role.
Before You Begin
Prerequisites
- You must be listed as an event speaker on the session. If someone added you only from a general speaker directory and did not convert you to an event speaker, the Presenter Center will not find you.
- The association controls session detail editing and document management separately for each session. You may be able to do one, both, or neither.
Find Your Sessions
- Go to the Presenter Center in the Portal.
- Look for the sessions you’re presenting.
Result
You’ll see each session where you’re listed as a speaker. If you are not assigned as a speaker to any session at the event, you’ll see a message instead of a session list.
Edit Your Session's Details
- Open the session you want to change.
- Update its name, description, or other details as needed.
- Save your changes.
Result
Your changes are saved to the session record.
Warning
If you’re allowed to edit a session, you can change every part of its record, not just the description. This can include details such as capacity. The whole record saves at once, so if a staff member changes the session while you’re editing it, your save can overwrite their change.
If editing is not available for a session, the Portal refuses the save and shows a message that the session could not be saved.
Tip
If you apply text styling, such as underlining, in your session’s description, check the session’s Portal page after you save to confirm the styling carried over. If it did not, contact Rhythm Support.
Tip
To embed a video hosted elsewhere in your session’s description, add it as an iframe with a title and the video’s source URL, rather than an HTML5 video element pointing at a provider’s embed URL.
Manage Your Session's Documents
If document management is allowed for your session, you’ll see a file browser where you can upload, rename, move, copy, and delete session handouts. Attendees see those same handouts on the session’s Portal page. If document management is not allowed, the file browser still appears as read-only, so you can view the files but not change them.
Tip
If the page does not finish loading, or seems stuck after you open a session, reload it. If your privileges or the event’s settings fail to load, there is no error message; the page simply keeps waiting.
