Many events sell tickets to functions, such as a dinner, reception, or tour, during the main event registration. You choose those functions on the registration form, so you buy the ticket as part of registration instead of making a separate purchase.
Prerequisites
- The event's registration form must include a section for choosing functions; not every event sells function tickets.
- At least one function must have a fee available for you to buy.
Choose Tickets While You Register
- On the event's registration form, find the section that lists the event's functions. Each function shows what you can buy. Because functions are part of event registration, you must choose your registration package first. If the form only shows the function section and no package is selected, you will not be able to choose a function.
- Choose the number of tickets you want for each function, using the fee that applies to you.
- If a function asks for a meal choice or its own questions, such as a dietary preference, answer them for each ticket. A field tied to a specific function, such as a T-shirt size, appears only after you enter a quantity of at least one for that function.
- Continue through the rest of the registration form and checkout to pay for your tickets with the rest of your registration.
Result
Your function tickets are added to your registration and priced with everything else you buy. You can see them on your registration afterward.
Because these function tickets are part of the same order as your registration, your checkout payment covers them. You do not need to complete a separate purchase.
Tickets Included in Your Package
If the registration package you choose already includes tickets to certain functions, the form shows those tickets as included instead of asking you to buy them separately. The form also offers only the functions your package allows. The included functions and ticket quantities depend entirely on how your association set up the package, so they can vary by registration type at the same event.
An included, no-cost function ticket can cover one general add-on, such as “lunch is included.” It does not identify which specific option you received for free when there are several choices. For example, if there are multiple lunch choices and only one is bundled at no cost, the included ticket does not show staff which lunch choice you received.
Tip
If the number of included tickets shown for a function changes while you adjust your package quantity during checkout, that is only how the screen displays it at that moment. It does not add extra function tickets to your final order. Check your confirmed registration afterward for the actual count.
If a Function Is Full
When a function has sold out and your association has turned on a waitlist, the registration form offers to add you to that function’s waitlist instead of selling you a ticket. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a place; it means you will be considered if a place opens up. If the form does not offer a waitlist for a full function, no more tickets are available for it.
Tip
The form checks availability when it first loads, so availability can change while you are registering. A function that was full a moment ago might have opened up, or a function that showed availability might have just sold out. If you see an unexpected message about a function’s availability, try registering again to see the current status.
See the Tickets You Already Have
After you register, your function tickets appear on your registration alongside your sessions and guests. Open your registration to see a Tickets list with each function where you have an active ticket. See View or Modify Your Registration in the Portal for how to open your registration and add more tickets later by modifying it.
If a function has its own page on the event website, select its name to see its date, time, location, description, and whether it is full. You do not need to sign in to view those details.
Staff at your association can also see and add tickets to your registration from their side of Rhythm if you contact them for help with a ticket.
