Before you apply for a certification, you can browse the programs your association offers. This page includes the programs your association has chosen to show in the Portal.
- Go to Certifications › Browse Certification Programs.
- Optionally type in Filter programs to narrow the list by name.
- Select a program’s logo or name to open it.
Result
You see your association’s certification programs as tiles with each program’s logo and name, or as a list grouped under headings, depending on how your association set up the page. When you open a program, you go to its overview page, where you can read about it and start an application.
Tip
If your association uses the grouped list layout, programs appear under their program group’s name in the order the association set. A program with no group appears under Other Programs. The filter works in either layout by matching text anywhere in a program’s name, and it does not require matching capitalization.
Warning
Only programs your association has chosen to show in the Portal appear here. If you do not see a program you expect, it may not be published to the Portal yet. Ask your association to confirm. This setting is also meant to control whether the program appears in the Certification Directory's program filter, but that dropdown has not always followed it consistently. Because of that, a program that is not published to the Portal may still appear as a filter choice there.
How Programs Are Shown
Each program shows its own logo, or your association’s logo when the program does not have one. The program name links to the program’s overview page. Programs appear in the order your association set, not alphabetically, so related or higher-priority programs can appear first.
If your association uses the grouped list layout instead of tiles, use the program group headings to find related programs, such as every certification in a particular discipline. A program that has not been placed in a group appears under Other Programs at the end of the list.
If Something Goes Wrong
| What you see | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
Unable to load programs | The program list did not load. Reload the page, or contact your association if it keeps happening. A signed-out visitor can also see this even when the page is public, because the page’s program request can still require sign-in. If your association wants anonymous visitors to browse, confirm that they are linking to the certification browse page built for public access, since not every certification browse page supports it. |
No available programs matching your criteria. | Your association has not published any programs to the Portal yet, or your filter text does not match any programs. Clear the filter and try again. |
| You expected a program to appear but it's missing | The program may not be published to the Portal. Ask your association to confirm. If they are checking by impersonating you from the Console, ask them to also check with a direct Portal sign-in, because the Portal uses its own access rules and visibility can look different under impersonation. |
| You already hold an active certification for this program but get an access-denied message opening it | This should not happen. Holding an active certification for a program should let you open it from the Portal. If you see this, contact your association so they can check further. |
