A pledge is your promise to give a total amount over time. You can view each pledge and its progress toward that total in your giving history on the Portal.
Prerequisites
- You need to be signed in to the Portal, and the pledge must be yours or belong to an organization you're linked to.
Find and Open a Pledge
- Open your giving history page. See View My Giving History.
- Look for the
Pledgestable, which appears when you have at least one pledge. - Select the magnifier icon on a row to open that pledge.
Result
The pledge page shows Pledge #, Donor:, Date:, Amount:, Fund:, Status: (Open, Paid, Cancelled, or Paused), Amount Outstanding:, and Amount Fulfilled:.
Tip
Amount: appears without a currency symbol or code, while Amount Outstanding: and Amount Fulfilled: include theirs. If your pledge is not in US dollars, check your own records before treating Amount: as the same currency as the other two figures on the page.
If your account is linked to an organization, you can view that organization's pledges the same way by using the giving history switch described in View My Giving History. Any member linked to the organization sees the same list. If you try to open a pledge that is not yours or your organization's, the page shows Unable to load pledge.
If the pledge was made as a tribute, in memory of or in honor of someone, that detail appears on the page along with whether and how the honoree was to be notified.
Pay a Balance Due
When an installment on the pledge's order is unpaid, a notice appears at the top of the page saying a balance is due, with a link to make a payment. Selecting the link takes you to a payment page, and the exact destination depends on how the organization has set up its Portal.
What You Can Do from Here
While a pledge is Open, you can also resend its receipt, update the card or account being billed, or cancel it from this same page. See Resend a Pledge Receipt and Update Billing or Cancel an Open Pledge.
