Most giving forms ask you to choose the fund that should receive your gift or pledge. This article explains how that choice works, why a fund might not appear, and how you can view campaign progress while you give.
Prerequisites
- You do not need to sign in. This applies to any giving form your association has published, whether or not you are signed in to the Portal.
Choose a Fund
- On the giving form, open the fund selector. It is usually labeled something like "Where should this gift be directed?"
- Choose a fund from the list. Funds appear under the fund category your association assigned them to. Within each category, they appear in the display order your association set, then by name.
Result
Your gift or pledge goes to the fund you selected.
If your association allows it, you can split your gift across more than one fund. You’ll use the same fund picker for each additional fund. See Give a Gift or Pledge Online to learn how splitting a gift across funds works.
Why Don't I See Every Fund?
A giving form only shows funds your association has marked as active and available on the Portal. If a fund is not listed, it may be inactive, or your association may have made it available only for staff to use when they process gifts directly. If you are looking for a specific fund that is not listed, contact the organization and ask where they would like your gift directed instead.
Tip
The fund picker remembers the last fund you chose on this device and offers it again the next time you open a giving form here. If a gift seems to default to the wrong fund, it may be using your last choice, so choose the correct fund again.
The fund picker works the same wherever it is embedded. Different pages or links cannot automatically preselect different funds.
See a Campaign's Progress Toward Its Goal
When a giving form is tied to a campaign with a fundraising goal, and your association has chosen to show progress on that form, you’ll see a panel that shows how close the campaign is to its goal while you give.
Tip
The progress panel appears only when the campaign has a goal. A campaign without a goal does not show a progress bar, even if the form would otherwise display one.
