Your recurring gifts repeat on a schedule, such as monthly, quarterly, or yearly. They appear in your giving history alongside your one-time gifts and pledges.
Prerequisites
- You need to be signed in to the Portal, and your account must be linked to a contact record.
Find Your Recurring Gifts
- Open your giving history page. See View My Giving History.
- Look for the
Recurring Giftstable, which appears when you have at least one recurring gift. - Select the magnifier icon on a row to open that recurring gift.
Result
The recurring gift page shows Donor:, Date:, Amount:, Fund:, Status:, and Next Gift Date:.
Status: shows Active, Suspended, Payment Error, Cancelled, or Completed. Amount: does not include a currency symbol or code, so check your own records if your recurring gift is not in US dollars.
When the recurring gift has a saved payment method, you also see a Billing Information card. It shows Type: for the payment method, such as a credit card or electronic check, Card Type: when a card is on file, and Account #: as the last digits after xxx.
Warning
Every recurring gift is labeled Monthly Gift on this page, even when it repeats on another schedule. If you set up a quarterly or annual recurring gift, use your own records or ask the organization to confirm the actual schedule. The page also does not show the gift's record number or an end date.
Tip
The monthly recurring gift setting in an organization's giving process configuration controls Console behavior, not whether the Portal offers monthly giving. When recurring gifts are enabled at all, the Portal still shows a monthly giving option regardless of that setting.
If you belong to an organization, you can also see that organization's recurring gifts from the same giving history switch described in View My Giving History. If you open a recurring gift that is not yours or your organization's, the Portal shows Unable to load recurring gift and does not display another donor's recurring gift.
Check for a Balance Due
If the order tied to your recurring gift has an unpaid charge, a notice appears above the details with a link to pay the balance. The notice checks only the charge tied to the recurring gift's original order, so a later unpaid charge in the series may not trigger it.
Change Billing or Cancel
While a recurring gift's status is Active, you can update its billing method or cancel it from the same page. A recurring gift uses the same billing panel and update form as a pledge. See Update Billing or Cancel an Open Pledge for how the billing card and update form work. After a recurring gift is cancelled, or when it has any status other than Active, those options no longer appear.
