Reporting an activity, such as attending a seminar or completing training hours, claims continuing-education credit toward your certification. Rhythm turns the activity you report into credit right away. You can correct it later if your association allows Portal edits for that activity type.
Prerequisites
You are signed in to the Portal with a linked contact.
Log an Activity
- Go to My Activities, then choose Log an Activity.
- Choose the activity type under Select an Activity Type:, then choose Continue.
- Complete your association's form for that activity type, including any credit lines, supporting file, or details it asks for.
- Save.
Result
Rhythm saves your activity and immediately turns its credit lines into credits you hold. If you correct the activity later, Rhythm handles the updated credit lines the same way. If your association's reporting process for that activity type sends a confirmation email, you receive it after processing finishes.
Tip
The confirmation step can show the activity's standard Date field instead of a custom date you entered, such as a historical exam date. This is more likely on a form built only from custom fields, rather than the usual basic-info section. If the confirmation date looks wrong, check the activity's details afterward. What you entered is still saved, even if the confirmation display does not show it.
If you need credits for an application in progress
If you left a certification application to log activities it needs, look for I'm Done, Go Back to My Certification Application on your activities list when you finish. It returns you to the application where you left off.
Warning
If the confirmation email fails to send, Rhythm reports the whole save as failed, even though your activity and its credits were already saved. Check your activities list before you report the same activity again.
Check Your Activities
- Go to My Activities.
Result
You see every activity you have reported, with the newest activity first. Each activity shows its date, name, type, credits claimed, and status. Choose an activity's name to see its full details, including any supporting file and the credits it produced.
Edit an Activity
Your association decides whether you can edit each activity type from the Portal. It also decides how long edits stay available after the activity date, and which form you use to make changes. After your association verifies an activity, you can no longer edit it from the Portal, no matter when you reported it.
For administrators
Portal editing for an activity type is turned on from that activity type's setup, under its other options. After you turn it on, the Certifications Activities portal feature must be reinstalled on the Portal before members see the Edit Activity option.
- Open the activity from My Activities.
- If offered, choose Edit Activity.
- Make your changes in the form.
- Save.
Result
Rhythm saves your changes and reprocesses the activity. It replaces the earlier credits with new credits based on the corrected credit lines.
Reprocessing replaces your credits
Saving an edit deletes the activity's previous credits and creates new ones from what you just entered, even if staff had already reviewed the earlier credits. If an application had already used one of those credits toward a requirement, that usage is not carried forward automatically.
If Something Goes Wrong
| What you see | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
Unable to save activity | A required field, such as the activity type or date, is missing, or a credit line is missing its credit type or has a negative amount. Check your entries and try again. |
| Edit Activity doesn't appear on an activity | Your association may not allow Portal edits for that activity type, the type's editing window may have closed, or the activity has already been verified. Contact the association if you need it changed. |
Unable to edit activity | The edit could not be started for the same reasons Edit Activity might not appear. Contact the association. |
| You didn't get a confirmation email | Your association's reporting process for that activity type may not send one, or the email may have failed even though the activity saved. Check your activities list to confirm it was recorded. |
| A renewal application shows your activities but no accrued credit | If a renewal application lists your logged continuing-education activities but shows zero for what you have accrued, check that each activity finished processing into credit. An activity that has not been processed does not count toward the application's accrued total, even though it appears on your activity list. |
