The Job Postings overview gives you a quick snapshot of Career Center activity without running a search. Use it to review posting counts, open the postings behind a count, and build a report when you need more detail.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

  • You need Careers staff access to see the Job Postings overview.
  • You need a separate permission to open the Careers Query Center.

Read the Overview Counts

  1. Go to Career Center › Job Postings.
  2. Review the three tiles: Jobs (active), Jobs (closed), and Jobs (pending).

Result

Each tile shows a whole number. "Closed" counts postings that have expired, and "pending" counts postings waiting for staff approval. If no postings match a status, the tile shows zero instead of an error.

Tip

A count can be up to a day old. If you closed or approved a posting a few minutes ago, the tile may not show that change yet.

Each count only includes postings in your Rhythm account, so you never see another organization’s data here.

Open the Postings Behind a Tile

  1. On a tile, select the number.

Result

Rhythm opens the query tool with a query already queued for that status, so you can review the postings behind the tile instead of seeing only the total.

Tip

You need permission to run the Job Postings query type before you can see this drill-down list. If you do not have that permission, the query tool will not run the query for you.

Build Your Own Report

When the overview tiles do not show enough detail, use the Careers Query Center for a custom breakdown, a saved report you can run again, or a list you can export.

  1. Go to Career Center › Queries.

Careers uses Rhythm’s shared query designer, which is also used across the product. See Design and Run a Query for how to build a query, choose fields, and run it. You can query both job postings and resumes as record types.

Add the Process field to a Job Postings query when you need to track which posting process was used, either as a filter or as an output column. The Process column shows the process's internal ID instead of its display name, so you may want to compare it with your list of job posting processes.

If It Fails

  • A tile's number never loads. Reload the Job Postings overview. If it still spins, the count may not have been calculated yet for your Rhythm account, so try again shortly.
  • A tile's number opens an empty list. The tile count and the drill-down query occasionally disagree about how a status is written. Use Find and View Job Postings to search directly by status instead.
  • You can't open the Query Center. You need a separate permission to access it beyond ordinary Job Postings access, so ask an administrator.
