Job postings are the positions employers advertise through your Career Center. This article explains how to find a posting, check how many postings are active, closed, or pending review, and open a posting to review its full details.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

  • You need Careers staff access to the Console. Most staff who work with Job Postings can search for and view postings.
  • Buying a package, posting a job, and creating a posting directly each require their own permission. If you do not have the needed permission, the related button still appears on this page, but Rhythm will refuse the action when you use it.

See Posting Counts and Start Common Tasks

  1. Go to Career Center › Job Postings.
  2. Review the three tiles across the top: Jobs (active), Jobs (closed), and Jobs (pending). Closed postings have expired, and pending postings are waiting for approval.
  3. Select a tile's number to open a query with the postings included in that count.

Tip

These counts can be up to a day old. See Check Your Job Board and Run Reports to refresh a count or build your own report.

You can also use Purchase a Package, Post a Job, and Manually Create Job Posting from this page to start other Job Postings work.

Search for a Posting

  1. On Career Center › Job Postings, use the search criteria on the left: Name:, Employer Name:, Internal Reference Code:, Body:, Post Date:, Expiration Date:, Status:, and ID:.
  2. Enter as many or as few criteria as you need. Every field is optional.
  3. Select Search.

Result

The page changes to a results list with each matching posting's Name, Employer, Posted date, Expires date, and Status. The number of matches appears above the table.

Keep these search details in mind:

  • Name, Employer Name, Internal Reference Code, and Body match regardless of capitalization.
  • A date range, such as Post Date or Expiration Date, needs both a start date and an end date.
  • Status matches one of five exact values: Active, Draft, Expired, Suspended, or Under Review.
  • ID accepts one or more identifiers, separated by commas or new lines.
  • Your search always stays within your Rhythm account.
  • Your browser remembers the last criteria you ran, so the page reopens where you left off when you return later.

Tip

If your search returns more matches than the page can show at once, a warning appears above the results telling you the totals include only part of the full result set. Narrow your criteria to see a complete count.

Select Refine Search Criteria to adjust your search, or select Save this Search to keep it for later.

Open a Posting's Full Detail

  1. From a result, select the posting's Name.

Result

The posting's detail page opens with the employer, location, posting number, post date, expiration date, and status. The page also includes Posting, Applications, and Custom Fields tabs. If you have permission, Edit Job Posting and Delete Job Posting appear here.

Before you rely on this page, note these details:

Warning

The Applications tab always says "There have not yet been any applications to this job posting," whether or not applications exist. It does not show the posting's actual applications; review a person's job applications from their contact record instead.

Tip

The Status value appears in green only for an Active posting. Every other status, including a posting still waiting for approval, appears with a red highlight. Red does not mean something is wrong; it only means the posting is not Active.

If a posting's expiration date has passed, a banner at the top of the page notes that it expired, regardless of the posting's current status.

You can also see all of an organization's postings from that organization's record in the Console, without searching by name.

If It Fails

  • "Unable to run search." Adjust your criteria and search again. Your entries are kept.
  • "Unable to load job posting." The posting may not have loaded correctly. Return to your search results and open it again.
  • A posting you know exists doesn't turn up in search. Postings become searchable after they are saved. If you or an employer just created or edited the posting, give it a moment and search again. If it still does not appear, try opening it directly from the organization's record or from a recent-items list instead.
