When an employer calls, mails in a job, or otherwise cannot post it themselves, Careers staff can post the job for them from the Console. You’ll choose the employer, complete your association’s job posting process, and either publish the posting or send it for approval.
Before You Begin
Prerequisites
- You need permission to post job postings for employers.
- The employer organization must already exist as a contact and organization in your account, with at least one contact recorded at that organization.
- The employer needs at least one job posting available. If you are not sure, check the balance on the organization’s record first. This page does not show the balance before you submit, so an employer with no postings left is refused only after submission.
Choose the Employer
- Go to Career Center › Job Postings.
- Select Post a Job.
- Under Select the employer organization:, choose the employer’s organization and one of its contacts. Rhythm records that contact as the person who posted the job and sends the posting confirmation email to that contact, if the process sends one.
- Select Post Job.
Warning
You must choose both an organization and a contact before you continue. If you select Post Job while either field is empty, you stay on the page and nothing happens, so choose both values and try again.
Run the Job Posting Process
A job posting process is a set of rules your administrator configures in Setup. It controls which form collects the job, whether you confirm the contact or organization details first, how many days the posting runs, whether it needs approval before it goes live, and which email goes out, if any.
- If more than one process applies, choose one from What would you like to do? and select Next. If only one process applies, it starts automatically.
- If the process asks you to confirm the contact’s details, complete that form.
- If the process asks you to confirm the organization’s details, complete that form. Rhythm skips this step when the chosen contact has no organization on record.
- Fill in the job posting form. At minimum, enter a title, the advertisement, and the employer’s display name, which is pre-filled from the organization but can be edited. Add a location, reference code, and application email address if the process’s form includes them.
- Submit the form.

Result
Rhythm creates the posting with today’s date and sets the expiration date from the process duration. If the process requires approval, the posting is saved as Under Review instead of going live as Active. If the process has a confirmation email switched on, the contact you chose receives it. Rhythm uses one of the employer’s available postings and takes you to the new posting’s detail page.
Tip
While you are in the job posting form, Save & Return Later saves your progress as a draft tied to the contact you chose. When you reopen Post a Job for that same contact, Rhythm offers to resume the draft, even under a different process. Check that you are using the process you want before you submit.
If It Fails
Every failure appears as Unable to post job, followed by a message that explains the issue:
- "Unable to post jobs, no posting available." The employer has no job postings left to use. Sell it a package first — see Sell Packages to an Employer — then post again.
- A required field is missing (title, employer name, or the advertisement body). Fill in the missing field and submit again.
- The email address you entered isn't valid. Correct the email address and submit again.
- "No value was provided for parameter: job.process_id." No process was selected before submission. Return to Post a Job and start again.
Warning
If the posting is refused because the confirmation email could not be sent, or for another reason after your entries were saved, submitting again creates a second posting instead of retrying the first one. Before you resubmit, check the posting search results or the employer’s record to avoid duplicates.
