Most job postings come from an employer buying a package and posting through your configured process, or from staff posting on an employer’s behalf. When you need to add a posting directly, you can do it without using the employer’s available postings, requiring approval, or sending an email. You can also use this screen to edit an existing posting, approve one that is waiting for review, or delete a posting.
Prerequisites
- Your role needs permission to create, edit, or delete job postings, depending on what you need to do.
- To edit or delete an existing posting, find it from Career Center › Job Postings, or open it from its 360 page.
Create a Job Posting Directly
- Go to Career Center › Job Postings.
- Choose
Manually Create Job Posting. - Choose the
Organization:and its contact. Rhythm fills inEmployer Name:with the organization’s name. If you type a different employer name and then choose another organization, Rhythm replaces your text with the new organization’s name. - Enter a
Job Posting Title:and the posting body. - Optionally fill in the
Location:,Post Date:,Expiration Date:, andOnline Application Email:. - Set
Status:if you do not want the posting to go live right away. It defaults toActive. - Fill in any custom fields your account has defined for job postings, if there are any. See Custom Fields Explained for how custom fields work on records.
- Choose
Save Changes.
Result
Job posting saved successfully appears, and you land on the new posting’s page. If you kept the default status, the posting is live right away. Rhythm assigns the posting number automatically.
Creating a Posting This Way Bypasses the Usual Rules
A posting created directly does not use any of the employer’s available postings, does not need approval regardless of the employer’s usual process, and sends no confirmation email. If you leave Expiration Date: blank, the posting does not expire on its own.
Edit an Existing Posting
- Open the posting’s 360 page and choose
Edit Job Posting. - Change any field, including the
Status:. - Choose
Save Changes.
Result
Job posting saved successfully appears, and you return to the posting’s 360 page with your changes in place.
You edit a posting the same way whether it was created directly or through a process. Staff can change the status and dates freely. Rhythm does not require Expiration Date: to come after Post Date:, so double-check both dates after you change either one.
Approve a Posting Waiting for Review
There is no separate approval button. To approve a posting that is Under Review:
- Open the posting and choose
Edit Job Posting. - Change
Status:toActive. - Choose
Save Changes.
Result
The posting is live with the post and expiration dates it already had. Approving it this way does not restart those dates.
Delete a Job Posting
- Open the posting’s 360 page.
- Choose
Delete Job Posting. - At the confirmation reading
You are deleting <name>. This operation cannot be undone., chooseYes, delete it!.
Result
Job posting deleted successfully appears, and you return to the job postings overview. Deleting a posting does not give back any of the employer’s available postings.
You cannot undo a deletion from this screen. A job posting’s changes are recorded in your account’s audit history, the same as any other record. A posting cannot be deleted while it still has applications on file. See View a Contact's Job Applications if you need to check whether a posting has any applications.
If the Save Is Refused
A posting always needs a title, an employer, a body, and an organization. Rhythm always requires an organization, and you can't make it optional, whether the posting is created directly here or submitted through the standard job posting process. Its status must be one of Draft, Under Review, Active, Expired, or Suspended. If you fill in Online Application Email:, it must be a valid email address. If anything is missing or invalid, the screen shows Unable to save job posting and keeps your entries so you can fix them and try again.
If two people edit the same posting at the same time, the second person to save sees the same message. Rhythm refuses the save because the posting no longer matches the version that person last loaded. Reload the posting, then make your change again.
