Careers access works like other Rhythm permissions: your administrator gives you an access level that controls what you can open and do. This reference explains the three ready-made Careers access levels, plus two permissions that exist outside them.
The Three Access Levels
Rhythm includes three ready-made Careers access levels. Each level includes everything from the level before it.
| Level | What it lets someone do |
|---|---|
| Read-Only Access | Open Careers; view employers, packages, postings, boards, applications, and resumes; and run, download, and schedule Careers queries. This level cannot create, edit, or delete records, and it cannot open Setup. |
| Day-to-Day Access | Do everything Read-Only Access can do, plus create, edit, and delete Careers records, post a job for an employer, and buy packages for an employer. This level cannot open Setup. |
| Administrator | Use every Careers permission, including Setup for packages, job posting processes, job boards, resume banks, Portal permissions, checkout settings, queries, and dashboard statistics. |
Tip
Read-Only Access includes every Careers query action, so someone with only Read-Only Access can run, download, and schedule Careers reports, including reports with contact details.
Posting Jobs and Buying Packages on an Employer's Behalf
Day-to-Day Access and Administrator access both let you post a job or buy a package for an employer from the Console, just as an employer contact could do on the Portal. You do not need a separate setting for this access because it comes with either of those two levels.
A Coupons Permission with No Effect
Careers also includes a permission for viewing coupons. Careers does not have a coupons feature, coupon record, page, or setting, so granting this permission has no effect today.
Pages That Need Administrator Access
| Page | Access needed |
|---|---|
| Career Center Setup (packages, job posting processes, job boards, resume banks, Portal contact-role permissions, checkout settings) | Administrator |
If a staff member without Administrator access tries to open Setup, they see an Access Denied message. For more detail, see How the Console Decides What You Can See.
