Priority points decide which organizations get first chance at exhibit space when registration opens. Most points build automatically from rules your organization sets, but you can also award points manually, correct a mistaken award, or refresh automatic points for everyone after you change a rule.
Where to Find an Organization's Priority Points
Priority points belong to the organization, not to a single event. You can find the same points on the Priority Points tab of any exhibitor record for that organization (Events › {event name} › Exhibitors › {exhibitor name} › Priority Points) or on the organization’s record in the Events console.
Award Priority Points by Hand
Prerequisites
- You’ll need the organization receiving the points and the reason for the award.
- On the Priority Points tab, select Assign Priority Points.
- Choose the Point Type: for the award.
- Set the Date of Assignment.
- Enter the Quantity of points.
- Enter an Origin/Reason describing why the points were given.
- Optionally add Notes with further detail.
- Select Save Changes.
Result
The award is added to the organization’s total right away and appears in the table with a Manual origin.
Edit or Delete a Point
- On the Priority Points tab, select the pencil icon on a row to edit it, or the bin icon to delete it.
- If you’re deleting the point, confirm the prompt.
Result
An edited point is saved with its new values. A deleted point is removed from the list immediately.
Warning
You can open the edit dialog for a point that was awarded automatically by a rule, but Rhythm will not save changes to it. To change how automatic points are calculated, update the point type’s accumulation rule and then recalculate instead of editing the point.
Deleting an automatic point removes it right away, but it is not gone for good. The next recalculation for that organization writes the point again on the recalculation date, as long as the rule that created it still applies. Deleting a manual point removes it permanently.
Recalculate Everyone's Automatic Points
When you change a priority point type’s accumulation rules, existing points do not update on their own because the organization’s history has not changed. Use recalculation when you need every organization’s automatic points updated to match the current rules.
- Go to Meetings & Shows › Setup › Maintenance.
- Under Recalculate Priority Point Assignments, select Recalculate Now.
- Confirm the prompt. It warns that the process can take up to ten minutes, depending on how many organizations your account has.
Result
Rhythm starts recalculating every organization’s automatic points in the background and confirms that the process began. It does not report when recalculation finishes or whether any organization’s calculation failed; the confirmation only tells you it started.
Warning
Rhythm does not stop you from starting another recalculation before the earlier one finishes. Avoid selecting Recalculate Now more than once in a short span, because the two runs can overlap.
