What It Controls
Your Rhythm account can use Abstracts for submissions, reviews, and approvals even if you do not have the standalone Submissions & Reviews application. The review and approval features described here are included with Abstracts.
Two tiles on the Abstracts Overview, Pending Presenter Acceptance and Approved & Accepted, count abstracts using one of two status vocabularies:
- The current vocabulary, used by every account on today’s review and approval process.
- A legacy vocabulary, kept only for accounts that were already using an older review process before it changed.
Only one vocabulary is active for your Rhythm account at a time. If an abstract has a status from the inactive vocabulary, those two tiles do not include it, even though the abstract still exists and appears in search.
Warning
If your Abstracts Overview counts look wrong or seem to exclude abstracts you know were decided, those abstracts most likely have statuses from a vocabulary that is not currently active for your Rhythm account.
Where to Find It
You cannot choose this scheme in the Console. Rhythm uses the current vocabulary for every account by default, and only turns on the legacy vocabulary for accounts still using an older review process. Only Rhythm can change which vocabulary applies to your Rhythm account.
Prerequisites
If you think your Abstracts Overview is using the wrong scheme for the review process you use today, contact Rhythm Support. Have an example abstract and its current status ready, so Support can confirm which vocabulary your abstracts use.
Dependencies and Precedence
- The scheme is one account-wide choice. It is not set by event, so every event’s Abstracts Overview reads the same vocabulary.
- Changing the review and approval processes for your abstract types does not change which vocabulary your account’s overview reads. Those choices are set independently.
Change Impact and How to Revert
Because Rhythm sets the scheme for your Rhythm account, there is nothing on this page for you to revert. If Rhythm moves your account from the legacy vocabulary to the current one, abstracts with legacy statuses stop appearing in the two tiles above until they are moved to statuses the current vocabulary recognizes.
