Events has its own question types in the Query Center, including registrations, sessions, abstracts, exhibitors, and more. For each Events question type, your Rhythm account grants three abilities separately: run it, download its results, and schedule it for recurring delivery. A staff member can have any combination of those abilities for one question type, and a different combination for another.
For the shared concepts behind the Query Center, query types, and role-based access, see Queries and Saved Queries Explained. This article covers only how to grant access to one Events question type at a time.
What It Controls
Each Events question type has its own run, download, and schedule ability. Run lets someone open and run that question type; without it, they do not see that question type in the list they can choose from. Download lets them save the results of a question they can already run. Schedule lets them set up a recurring email delivery of a question’s results.
These abilities do not include one another. You can allow a staff member to run a question without downloading its results, or to run and download it without scheduling it.
Prerequisites
You need the permission your Rhythm account grants for managing staff roles and permissions.
Where to Find It
You grant these abilities through the same roles and permissions your Rhythm account uses to control staff access across the Console. That is the same role setup described in How the Console Decides What You Can See.
Events question types appear there alongside query types from your account’s other applications. Each question type has its own choices for running, downloading, and scheduling.
The Settings
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Run | Lets the role open, run, and view results for this Events question type |
| Download | Lets the role save this question type’s results to a file. This has no effect unless Run is also granted |
| Schedule | Lets the role set up a recurring email delivery of this question type’s results. This has no effect unless Run is also granted |
Dependencies and Precedence
- These three abilities apply to one Events question type at a time. Granting them for one question type does not affect any other question type in Events or in any other application.
- A staff member without Run for a question type does not see it in the Query Center’s list of question types, so Download and Schedule do nothing on their own.
Change Impact and How to Revert
Changes to any of the three abilities take effect the next time the affected staff member opens the Query Center. The change does not retroactively affect any question that person already ran, downloaded, or scheduled.
Removing Run from someone who already has a schedule for that question type does not cancel the schedule by itself. If you want to stop those deliveries, check that person’s scheduled deliveries separately.
Permissions
You need the permission your Rhythm account grants for managing staff roles and permissions to change any of these abilities for someone else.
Validation and Errors
Not applicable. There is no separate save step with its own validation beyond the general role and permission editor your Rhythm account uses for every application’s abilities.
