Before your Rhythm account can sell Career Center packages, checkout needs to know where revenue and payments should be recorded and which payment options buyers can use. You manage these choices in the Career Center settings record for your Rhythm account; this article covers the checkout settings on that record. For the full settings record, see Career Center Settings.
What It Controls
These checkout settings apply to every Career Center package purchase, no matter which business unit sells the package:
- Which business unit, merchant account, and bank account the sale uses
- Which payment methods buyers can use
- Whether buyers can pay by credit card, including the allowed amount range and processing fee
- Which invoice template, payment terms, and fee products the order uses
- Optional advanced functions that preprocess or price an order
Where to Find It
Go to Career Center › Setup › Settings.
Prerequisites
You need the permission your administrator grants for Career Center setup. Your Rhythm account must also already have the business unit, merchant account, and bank account you want to select.

Required Fields
Business unit, merchant account, and bank account are required. You cannot save the settings until all three fields have a value.
Payment Methods and Credit Cards
Turn on the payment methods you want to offer buyers of Career Center packages. Some methods, such as pay later or billing an organization, show their own options after you turn them on.
You can accept credit cards for all package purchases, turn cards off entirely, or accept cards only within a set amount range. When a processing fee applies, choose whether Rhythm never charges the fee, always charges it, or lets the buyer choose.
Special Pricing
Warning
Special pricing rules for a Career Center package are evaluated against the purchasing organization, not the contact completing the purchase. Testing a rule against a contact can appear to return a discounted result, but live checkout still charges the regular organization price if the organization itself does not meet the criteria. Set up and test special pricing criteria at the organization level.
Configured pricing logic can also look like it favors an individual member's price. Checkout does not apply that result when the posting is treated as organization-owned, because the organization's own pricing eligibility decides what the purchaser is charged.
Advanced: Custom Order Functions
Your account can name custom functions that preprocess or price a Career Center package order. This is an advanced option, and you set up the function outside the Career Center Console. If you are not using custom pricing logic, leave these settings alone.
Why Won't It Let Me Delete This?
Warning
After your account’s Career Center settings name a job posting process or a checkout record, such as an invoice template or fee product, you cannot delete that record while the settings still refer to it. If you need to delete a process or checkout record and Rhythm will not let you, check whether these settings still point to it, then change the setting first.
Change Impact and How to Revert
Warning
Saving this page affects the next package purchase immediately, with no confirmation. Changing the merchant account or bank account sends every future package payment to the new account. Double-check these fields before you save, because the only way to undo a save is to enter the previous values again.
Permissions
Changing the checkout settings requires the permission your administrator grants for Career Center setup. You cannot view these settings unless you can also change them.
Validation and Errors
Rhythm does not save the settings when the business unit, merchant account, or bank account is missing. Your account also does not save settings that name an invoice template, payment term, or fee product that does not exist.
