When your account first gets Career Center, it starts empty. You will not have job boards, packages, or processes yet. The setup checklist is the first page a new administrator sees, and it links to each setup page in a practical order.
What It Controls
The setup checklist does not configure anything by itself. It gives you two short groups of links that open the pages where you complete the actual setup. It also does not track your progress, so you will not see checkmarks or progress indicators.
Where to Find It
Go to Career Center › Setup. This is the first page that opens when you choose Career Center setup from the application menu.
Prerequisites
You need the permission your administrator grants for Career Center setup.
The Checklist
| List | Step | Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Job Postings | Set up your job boards | Job Boards |
| Job Postings | Set up job posting custom fields | The job posting custom fields page |
| Job Postings | Set up job posting forms | The job posting forms page |
| Job Postings | Configure job posting processes | Job Posting Processes |
| Job Postings | Configure job posting pricing packages | Career Center Packages |
| Job Postings | Configure portal permissions for job posting | The Contact Roles page |
| Almost Done | Configure general settings | Career Center Settings |
A Recommended Order
Warning
The checklist lists Configure portal permissions for job posting before Configure general settings, but the Contact Roles page will not show its permission grid until you save the general settings at least once. Save your general checkout settings first, even though the checklist lists that step last.
A practical order to follow:
- Save your general settings once, so the Contact Roles page can load. See Career Center Settings and Package Checkout Settings.
- Set up your job boards. See Job Boards.
- Set up job posting custom fields and forms, if your account needs them beyond the defaults.
- Configure job posting processes. See Job Posting Processes.
- Configure your pricing packages. See Career Center Packages.
- Configure portal permissions for job posting on the Contact Roles page, now that general settings exist.
Who Can Configure the Career Center
You need the permission your administrator grants for Career Center setup to open this page. If you do not have that permission, the Setup menu item may still appear, but Rhythm will not open the page when you select it.
Permissions
The checklist page checks your permission before it opens, and each linked page checks its own permission when you follow a link. Access to the checklist does not guarantee access to every linked page.
