A job seeker's resumes in the Portal belong to that job seeker. They can see, add, edit, and delete their own resumes. Besides the job seeker, only two other people can access those resumes: someone currently acting as their delegate, or a contact at the same organization. No one else can open, list, or change a resume through the Portal, even when an employer has purchased resume bank access.
Who Can Reach a Job Seeker's Resumes
The same access rule applies when someone opens a resume, lists a contact's resumes, adds one, replaces one, or deletes one:
- The job seeker themselves.
- A person currently delegating for the job seeker. If the delegation ends during a Portal session, the change takes effect on that person's next request. They do not keep access until they sign out.
- A contact at the same organization as the job seeker.
Anyone outside those relationships is refused, whether they use the Portal's resume form or another route. If they try to open someone else's resume, they see a message that the resume could not be loaded. If they try to add, change, or delete another contact's resume, the Portal refuses the request.
Tip
The Portal's resume form uses the signed-in person's own contact, so a job seeker using the form as intended usually will not see this refusal. It mainly matters for anyone calling the resume operations directly.
Employers Cannot Search Resumes
Resume bank access does not add a resume search for employer contacts in the Portal. Even when an employer's organization has resume bank access, someone can access a specific resume in the Portal only through one of the relationships above. Careers does not include its own native, built-in resume bank search for employers.
Tip
If you want something like a resume bank for employers, you can build a similar workflow with Portal Contact Forms to collect resume information and Directories to organize and present it. This is a workaround you assemble from existing Portal features, not a built-in resume bank.
What a Person Who Can Reach a Resume Sees
When someone is allowed to open a resume, they see every field stored on it. This is true whether the resume is their own, or they can access it as a delegate or colleague.
Everything Stays Inside Your Account
Every resume request stays within your Rhythm account. A request for another account's resumes or resume banks is refused, so one association's job seekers and resumes are never available from another association's live account or sandbox.
Example
Priya and Sam are both contacts at the same employer organization. Priya uploads a resume through the Portal's resume form. Sam signs in separately and can open, list, replace, or delete that resume because he is a contact at the same organization, even though he did not add it himself. Resume bank access alone gives an employer no way to find or open Priya's resume through the Portal, because employers do not have a resume search there.
