After review starts, you can open a round or bucket for a quick status check. These pages show who is reviewing, how many submissions are included, and how many reviews are complete, outstanding, or declined. If you change how Rhythm places submissions into buckets, you can also reprocess existing submissions so they follow the updated setup.
When to Use This
Use the round and bucket pages when you need a single-screen summary for one part of your review process. Use reprocessing after you change bucket rules, the default bucket, or teams, and you want existing submissions to use those changes instead of only new submissions.
Prerequisites
- To view a round's or bucket's page, you need permission to view review rounds or review buckets.
- To reprocess bucket assignments, you need permission to configure review settings for the space. Day-to-day Submissions users typically have this permission because it also lets you edit review settings.
See How a Round Is Doing
- Open the space, then go to Reviews.
- Select a round's name on the review progress dashboard.
Result
The round's page opens with tabs for Buckets, submissions using your space's term for a submission, Reviews, and lists of reviewers who have not submitted yet or who declined. The Buckets tab shows each bucket in the round and the team assigned to review it.
See How a Bucket Is Doing
- Open the space, then go to Reviews.
- Select a bucket's name on the review progress dashboard, or from a round's Buckets tab.
Result
The bucket's page opens with tabs for Teams, submissions currently in the bucket, Reviews, and lists of reviewers who have not submitted yet or who declined. The Teams tab shows which team reviews this bucket in each round.
Both pages are read-only, so you can check the status but cannot change a round or bucket there. To make changes, use the setup screen for that round or bucket.
Reprocess Bucket Placement for a Space
When you change bucket assignment rules, the default bucket, or teams after submissions already exist, Rhythm uses those changes for new submissions only. To apply the changes to existing submissions, reprocess the space. For example, if you turn on bucket assignment rules after abstracts have arrived, those abstracts stay where they were originally placed until you reprocess the space. Changes to review rounds can also leave existing abstracts in the wrong round, so reprocess the space after round changes when you want existing submissions to land in the correct round for review.
- Open the space, go to Setup, then Reviews, then Maintenance.
- Under Reprocess Bucket Assignments, select Reprocess Now.
- Confirm the warning, which tells you this can't be undone and every submission in the space will be updated.
Result
Rhythm shows a message that the process has restarted and will take a few minutes. Every submission in the space goes through bucket placement and reviewer assignment again, as though it had just arrived, using your current rules.
Warning
Reprocessing has no progress indicator and does not show a confirmation when it finishes. You only see the initial message that it started. It can't be undone, and if you start it again while an earlier run is still working, Rhythm starts a second run.
If you deliberately kept a submission in a bucket you chose by hand instead of letting the rules decide, that submission stays in the selected bucket when you reprocess the space. That protection is separate from reprocessing, so you do not need to turn it on again each time. Reprocessing can also replace reviewers who have not submitted a review yet if your placement rules send the submission to a different bucket or team.
For a walkthrough of when to reprocess after specific setup changes, and how placement works the first time a submission arrives, see Reprocess Placement and Reviewer Assignment for a Space. If you need to bring records into a mirrored space instead of re-sorting existing submissions, look for a repopulate option on the same Maintenance page.
