A merchandise item’s page includes tabs that show who bought the item and what stock is available now. Use these tabs when you need a quick answer without building a query or checking each warehouse.
Prerequisites
Open the item from Orders & Inventory › Merchandise.
See Who Bought the Item
- Open the item’s page.
- Open the Purchases tab.
Result
The tab lists every order line that bought the item, with the newest purchase first. Each row shows the date, the buyer’s name, the amount paid, and the order status. If the item uses variant or modifier options, such as size, color, or engraving, the tab adds a column for each option and shows what the buyer chose on that line.
Warning
This list matches purchases by the item’s own identifier. In the rare case that another type of product shares that identifier, purchases for that product could appear here too. If a row does not look like it belongs to this item, compare the buyer and amount with your other records.
Warning
This tab shows the purchaser, which is the bill-to party on the order, not the recipient. If an order used an override ship-to to send the item to someone else, that recipient does not appear as the buyer. The row still names the bill-to contact or organization.
Tip
If you need to filter, sort, or export this list beyond what the tab allows, design a query instead. Use a query type that reads order lines.
See the Item's Current Stock
- Open the item’s page.
- Open the Inventories tab.
Result
The tab lists every stock record for the item, with one row for each warehouse or bin. For an item tracked by SKU, it shows one row for each SKU within each warehouse. Each row shows the available, committed, on order, backordered, reserved, and defective quantities. Select a warehouse to open that stock record directly.
The Inventories tab appears only when the item is set up to track stock. If you do not see the tab, the item is not currently tracked, so there is no stock record to show here.
| Column | On this tab |
|---|---|
| Warehouse | The warehouse or bin for this stock record. Select it to open that stock record |
| SKU | Shown only for an item tracked by SKU, for the specific variant |
| Available | The available quantity for this warehouse or SKU |
| Committed | The committed quantity for this warehouse or SKU |
| On Order | The quantity on order for this warehouse or SKU |
| Backordered | The backordered quantity for this warehouse or SKU |
| Reserved | The reserved quantity for this warehouse or SKU |
| Defective | The quantity marked defective for this warehouse or SKU |
These quantities mean the same thing across every stock record in Orders & Inventory, and they change the same way as stock moves. They are not specific to the Inventories tab.
Warning
This tab shows only the first page of stock records. If the item has stock at more warehouses or SKUs than fit on one page, some rows may not appear here.
Tip
An item’s SKU is not currently available as a merge field for invoices or order confirmation emails, even though it appears here and elsewhere in the product. If you need SKU on a customer-facing document, you’ll need another way to include it for now.
