Canvas, CommPartners Elevate, Blue Sky eLearn, Higher Logic, Clowder, Forj Community, and Honor Education each connect to Rhythm from a settings screen in Integrations. Most of these platforms follow the same rules for opening, saving, and, for a few platforms, marking the connection inactive. This article explains what those screens have in common. Each platform’s own article explains the fields that are specific to that platform.
Prerequisites
Your account must be entitled to the platform you want to connect. If your account is not entitled, the screen may still open and let you complete the form, but the save fails.
Where to Find It
Go to System & Security › Integrations and open the card for the platform:
| Platform | Screen |
|---|---|
| Canvas | Canvas LMS |
| CommPartners Elevate | Cadmium Elevate |
| Blue Sky eLearn | Bluesky eLearn |
| Higher Logic | Higher Logic |
| Clowder | Clowder |
| Forj Community | Forj Community |
| Honor Education | Honor Education |
Canvas, Elevate, Blue Sky, Higher Logic, Clowder, and Forj each open directly to one settings form. There is no separate list screen because your account can have only one connection to each of these six platforms. Honor Education works differently: it opens to a list because your account can connect more than one Honor Education account, and you create or edit each one on its own form.
Saving a Connection
- Open the platform’s screen from the catalog.
- Fill in or change the settings the platform requires. See that platform’s own article for its specific fields.
- Save.
Result
For the six single-connection platforms, saving creates your account’s one connection if none exists yet, or replaces the existing connection in full. For Honor Education, saving creates or replaces the specific account you opened.
When you save one of these forms, Rhythm saves the whole record, not only the fields you changed. Whatever appears on the form when you save is exactly what is stored afterward.
Turning a Connection Off
Only Blue Sky, Honor Education, and Forj Community connections have an explicit Active/Inactive switch on their form. Canvas, CommPartners Elevate, Higher Logic, and Clowder do not have that switch. After one of those four is configured, you cannot turn it off from the Console.
Warning
Marking a Blue Sky, Honor Education, or Forj connection inactive does not necessarily stop Rhythm from using it. The switch is stored on the record, but this article cannot confirm that anything checks it before exchanging data with the platform. Treat inactive as a label for your own reference, not as a guaranteed way to pause the connection.
Removing a Connection
Honor Education is the only one of these seven platforms with a delete action in the Console, and you reach it from the Honor Education list screen. The other six platforms do not have a removal control here. If you need to remove one of those connections, it must be done through the API. See Maintain Connections Through the API.
Permissions
You need a signed-in Console session for your account to reach and save any of these connections. This article does not name a more specific permission because none is declared beyond that. Rhythm staff can also read and fix any account’s learning and community connections when helping you with a support request.
Validation and Errors
| What you see | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The save fails, and your account is not entitled to that platform | Your account’s entitlement to the integration does not include this platform | Contact your Customer Success Manager to confirm entitlement |
| The save is refused as out of date | Someone else saved a change to the same connection after you opened it | Reopen the connection to see the latest version, then make your change again |
| The form opens and lets you fill it in, but you were told elsewhere your account is not entitled | Opening the screen does not check entitlement the same way the catalog card does | Confirm entitlement before assuming the connection will save |
