A donor club is a recognition level, such as "Friends," "Bronze," or "Leadership Circle," that groups donors by giving amount. The club record includes only the name, its place in the list, and whether it is active. You set the giving amounts for each club separately as giving tiers in your Fundraising settings.
Prerequisites
You need access to Fundraising's setup pages to create, edit, reorder, or delete donor clubs.
Where to Find Donor Clubs
Go to Fundraising & Gifts › Setup › Donor Clubs to open Manage Donor Clubs. This page lists every club in your Rhythm account, along with its status and the date it was last changed.
Create a Donor Club
- On
Manage Donor Clubs, selectCreate Donor Club. - Enter a
Name:, such as "Leadership Circle." - Review the
ID:, which Fundraising suggests from the name you entered. You can change it before you save, but not afterward. - Leave
Status:set toActiveunless you do not want the club available right away. - Select
Save Changes, or selectSave & Add Anotherto create several clubs in a row.
Result
The new club appears in Manage Donor Clubs and is available anywhere staff choose a donor club, including in your donor club giving tiers.
Warning
After you save a new club, its ID: is locked. Donors, giving tiers, and club history all refer to the club by this identifier, so choose it carefully before you save for the first time.
Tip
If Fundraising suggests an identifier that another club already uses, a warning appears next to the field, but you can still save. Choose a different identifier if you want to avoid a naming conflict with an existing club.
You can also select the clone icon on an existing club's row to start a new club with that club's name and status already filled in, ready for its own new identifier.
Rename or Edit a Donor Club
- On
Manage Donor Clubs, selectEditon the club's row. - Change
Name:orStatus:as needed. TheID:field is locked and cannot be changed here. - Select
Save Changes.
You can rename a club at any time. Donors and records already placed in the club continue to work under the new name.
Reorder Donor Clubs
Drag a club's grip handle up or down in Manage Donor Clubs to change its position. Rhythm uses this order anywhere donor clubs appear together, such as pickers on a donor's record and your giving tier setup.
Deactivate a Donor Club
Change Status: to Inactive on the club's edit form, then save. An inactive club no longer appears in the choices staff see when they set a donor's club by hand, or in the club filter when they search donors.
Warning
Deactivating a club does not remove it from use behind the scenes. Automatic club placement can still place a donor into an inactive club if your giving tiers still name it, and any donor already in the club stays there. Deactivating only affects what staff can choose manually going forward.
Delete a Donor Club
- On
Manage Donor Clubs, selectDeleteon the club's row. - Confirm when asked.
Result
The club is removed from the list.
Warning
You cannot delete a donor club if any donor still names it, either currently or in their club history. You also cannot delete a club that a giving tier in your Fundraising settings still names. Move donors off the club and remove or update the giving tier first, or deactivate the club instead of deleting it.
