A job board is a searchable list of job postings your association publishes on the Portal. You can look for open positions without creating an account.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

  • You do not need to sign in to search a job board.
  • You need a Portal page that includes a job board. If your association added the ready-made page, it appears in the Portal menu as Search for Jobs. Your association may also have built its own page with a different label.

Search

  1. Open the job board page.
  2. Fill in the search fields on the page. Each job board can use different fields, so the fields you see and their order vary by board.
  3. Choose Search.

Result

Matching postings appear below the search area. Select a result to open its details. See View a Job Board Entry to learn what that page shows and how to apply.

When a job board uses a search form, it does not show postings until you choose Search, even the first time you open the page. If the page is empty before you search, that does not mean there are no open positions. It only means a search has not run yet. This is how the board is set up, and you cannot change it from this page.

What a Search Returns

Unless your association set up its own rules for which postings appear, a search returns only active postings. By default, jobs do not appear in results when they have expired, closed, or have not gone live yet. If you already have a direct link to the posting, the link can still open even when the posting does not appear in search results.

A result can also include the posting's employer, because the job board shows the posting with the employer contact and organization behind it.

Results can be slightly out of date because the job board keeps a copy of its results and refreshes them on a schedule, not after every search. A posting that just closed, or one that was just posted, may not appear right away.

If Your Search Does Not Work

If you see a message that the search could not run, one of your entries probably does not match what the field expects. For example, a number range might be typed in the wrong format. Correct the field and search again.

If the job board does not load, the page was probably not set up completely, or the board it pointed to no longer exists. Contact your association if this keeps happening.
