Employer contacts with a role that allows job posting can post jobs from the Portal using your association’s setup.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites

  • Sign in to the Portal, make sure your account is linked to your organization, and confirm that your contact role allows job posting.
  • Your organization needs at least one job posting available. If you have none left, see Buy Career Center Packages in the Portal.

Post a Job

  1. Open your Employer Center and select Post a Job.
  2. If more than one posting process applies, choose one from What would you like to do? and select Next. If only one process applies, it starts automatically.
  3. If prompted, confirm your contact details, your organization’s details, or both.
  4. Complete the job posting form. Your association designs this form, so the fields vary, but every posting needs at least a title, an employer name, and the advertisement. The employer name is filled in from your organization, but you can edit it. See Web Forms Explained for how Rhythm forms generally work.
  5. Submit the form.

Result

Your posting is created. Depending on the process, it either goes live right away or goes to the association for approval first. In both cases, it uses one of your organization’s available job postings.

Where Starting Details Come From

Most of the job posting form starts empty. The employer name is filled in from your organization’s name, but you can edit it if the posting should show something different. If you opened Post a Job from a specific link elsewhere on your association’s site, the advertisement may already include text. You can edit or replace that text before you submit.

Tip

If your organization has more than one posting process, the process you choose controls how many days your posting stays up and whether it needs approval before it goes live. If you are not sure which process to use, ask your association which one fits the job you are posting.

Save Your Progress and Finish Later

  1. While completing the job posting form, select Save & Return Later.

Result

You see Draft Saved Successfully. Select Continue to return to your Employer Center.

Tip

The next time you start Post a Job, Rhythm offers your saved draft, even if you choose a different process than the one you started with. If you open an older draft, review the process before you submit.

Warning

When you resume a saved draft, standard fields such as the title and advertisement carry over, but values in custom fields may not. Check custom fields when you resume a draft, and re-enter any blank values before you submit.

If It Fails

  • "Post a Job" isn't shown, or is disabled. Your contact role may not allow job posting, or your organization may have no postings left to use. See Buy Career Center Packages in the Portal.
  • "Unable to post job," no postings available. Buy a package first, then submit your posting again.
  • "Unable to post job," a required field is missing. Fill in the title, employer name, and advertisement, then submit again.
  • The email address you entered isn't valid. Correct the email address and submit again.
  • You picked the wrong process for a posting you already submitted. A submitted posting keeps the form and process it was created with, and you cannot switch it afterward. Delete the posting, then submit it again through the process you meant to use.
