Use event permissions to add event-specific requirements to the security policy for an event microsite. Along with the policy’s regular eligibility criteria, you can require a visitor to be registered, have a paid registration, belong to selected registration categories, be a speaker, or have a primary organization that sponsors the event.

What It Controls

Event permissions work only on an event microsite. On any other site, Rhythm skips those event permissions and uses the policy’s regular eligibility criteria to decide who can enter.

Rhythm checks the regular eligibility criteria before it checks event permissions. If a contact does not meet one of those criteria, Rhythm refuses access before it checks any event-specific requirements.

Tip

If registration or restricted content is unavailable even though the event is active and the event permissions look correct, check whether the microsite’s navigation or page styling is hiding the registration link or menu item. The issue is presentation, not permissions.

Where to Find It

Open Portals & Microsites › Setup › Security Policies, then create or edit a security policy you plan to use on an event microsite. Event permissions appear in the same form as eligibility criteria.

Prerequisites

Event permissions are part of the security policy form, so anyone who can manage security policies can also change the policy’s event permissions.

Restricting to Registrants

  1. Save the policy.

Result

Restricting to Speakers or Sponsors
