Two Portal store details come from your association’s setup, not from anything you choose: which store opens when a page does not name one, and whether you can apply a coupon after you place an order. This article explains both.
When to Use This
Read this if the Portal opens a store you did not expect, or if you are viewing a past order and do not see Apply Coupon. For steps to browse a store or apply a coupon, see Browse a Store's Products and View, Pay, and Apply a Coupon to Your Orders in the Portal.
Prerequisites
- None. This article gives background information and does not include steps.
Which Store the Portal Opens
When you open a Portal store page and the link or button does not name a specific store, Rhythm chooses the store in this order:
- A specific store named by the link, button, or page you came from.
- Your association's chosen default store, if one has been set for your account.
- A store that comes built into every Rhythm account as a fallback, so the store page always has something to show even when no default store has been chosen.
Tip
If you are not sure why a particular store opened, check with your association. The store you see depends on how they set up their Portal pages and default store.
Your association can have only one default store at a time, but it can still create separate Portal pages that each point to a different store. If two store pages appear to show the same products, the second store probably has no filters configured, so it shows everything instead of a narrower selection.
Why You Might Not See an Option to Apply a Coupon
Your association decides whether members can apply a coupon in the Portal after placing an order, so this option is not available everywhere by default. If you do not see Apply Coupon while viewing one of your orders:
- Your association may not have turned this feature on for the Portal at all, which means no order will show the option.
- Your association may limit it to a number of days after the order was placed. If that time has passed, the option may not work the way you expect, or you may see a message explaining that your association needs to handle the request directly.
