Opening a product from a store catalog takes you to that item’s page. On that page, you can review the details, choose any required options, and add the item to your cart.
When to Use This
Use this article after you find an item in the store catalog. For help browsing, searching, and sorting the catalog, see Browse a Store's Products. After you choose the item’s options, add it to your cart; see Build a Shopping Cart.
Prerequisites
- None. You do not need to sign in to view an item’s details, price, or options.
Open an Item and Choose Its Options
- From a store catalog, select the product image or name to open the item’s page.
- Review the item’s images, name, description, and price.
- If the item has versions, such as size or color, choose the one you want. Depending on how your association set up the item, you may choose from swatches, buttons, a list, or a dropdown.
- If the item asks additional questions, such as a personalization detail, answer the required ones.
- If your chosen combination is unavailable or sold out, Rhythm tells you and stops you from continuing.
Result
After you choose an available version and answer any required questions, you can add the item to your cart.
Tip
Version values on this page, such as size or color, come from how your association configured the item. If a value looks unfamiliar or oddly formatted, it reflects how it was entered, not anything you did incorrectly.
Limits and Exceptions
- Not every item has versions or personalization questions. A plain item page shows its images, description, price, and a way to add it to your cart.
- Availability is checked as you choose. If you choose a version that is out of stock, or one your association marked as not available for purchase, you cannot add it until you choose a different combination.
- This page is shared with other places in Rhythm. Staff use the same page format in the Console to preview exactly what a shopper will see, so your view matches what staff can check before they publish an item.
- A signed-in member's price shown on this page can lag behind member pricing that the order screen still applies correctly. If a product page shows only a non-member price for you as a signed-in member, the correct member price still applies when you reach the order screen.
- A direct link to a product can still open it after its "Available Online Until" date has passed, even though the product no longer appears in the store's regular browse or search results.
