Awards reports run in the same Query Center you use elsewhere in Rhythm, with eight Awards report types already built in. Use this article to find those reports, choose the right one, and understand two limits before you rely on the results.
When to Use This
Use this when you need a list or export from Awards data that goes beyond a search screen, including applications, nominations, nominees, recipients, references, reviews, or awards.
Prerequisites
- Permission to open the Query Center.
- Permission to run the specific report type you want. Rhythm checks this separately from your access to the Query Center.
Run a Report
- To report across every award, go to Awards & Nominations › Queries. To report inside one award, open that award and select Queries in its menu.
- Start a new question and choose one of the Awards report types.
- Set your criteria, choose your columns, and pick a sort order, just as you would for any Rhythm query.
- Run the report.
Result
Rhythm shows a results table that you can download and save. After you save it, you can schedule recurring delivery. See Design and Run a Query for the shared basics of criteria, columns, and sort order that apply to every report type.
When you open Queries from inside an award, Rhythm shows that you are working with that award’s queries. A query you save there is only available for that award, and most report types return records only for that award. The Awards report type and the Application Reviews report are the exceptions described below. To run a report across every award instead, use the account-wide Awards & Nominations › Queries entry rather than an award’s own Queries menu.
| Report type | What it covers | Inside a single award |
|---|---|---|
| Awards | Awards in your Rhythm account, including type and date | Still lists every award in your Rhythm account; this report does not narrow to the award you are viewing |
| Applications | Applications with their award, order, fee, applicant, organization, and membership | Filtered to that award |
| Applications by Category | Applications listed once for each recipient category they applied under | Can only be run inside an award; it has no account-wide version |
| Application Reviews | Reviews with their reviewer, score, and recommendation | See the warning below |
| Nominations | Nominations with recipient category names, nominee, nominator, organization, and membership | Filtered to that award |
| Nominees | Nominees with their award, contact, organization, and membership | Filtered to that award |
| Recipients | Award recipients with their award, contact, organization, and membership | Filtered to that award |
| References | References, with a link that opens each row at its Awards reference section | Filtered to that award |
Tip
Reviewer decline reasons are not available from any Awards query, including Application Reviews, so you cannot build an Awards report that shows why a reviewer declined an application.
Tip
If an Applications report shows fewer submissions than you expect during a live award cycle, compare it with your payment or fee report for the same award. An application can occasionally fail to get created even though its fee was paid, and comparing the two reports is a practical way to catch that while the cycle is still open.
Tip
The account-wide Nominations report has been known to hang and never finish loading. If that happens, open the report from inside the specific award instead; the same report runs normally there.
Warning
The Application Reviews report shares an underlying view with Submissions, and that view pairs every review with every award in your Rhythm account. When you run the report across the whole account, the same review can appear more than once. When you run it inside one award, it lists every review in your Rhythm account, including reviews unrelated to Awards, and labels them as if they belonged to that award. Keep that in mind when you use the results, especially inside a single award.
If a Result Link Opens a Blank Page
Selecting a result usually opens its record. Applications and References queries have occasionally opened a blank page instead: Applications results because the generated link was missing the award context, and References results when the link should have opened the Awards reference section. Both issues have been reported and fixed. If a result still opens a blank page, run the same query from inside the specific award instead of the account-wide Query Center, since that has resolved the issue when it happens. If the page still stays blank, contact support.
Why the Awards Reports Page Is Empty
Awards & Nominations › Reports opens to a blank page because it has no content today. Awards reporting happens in the Query Center described above, so use that instead.
