Use this form when you need to enter a nomination record directly. It skips the member’s nomination process, unlike nominating on a member's behalf: Rhythm does not check eligibility, check the window, create an automatic application, or send emails. Use it for nominations you received another way, such as a paper form or migrated record, or when you need to correct an existing nomination.
When to Use This
Use this form when you already have all nomination details, or when you need to fix a mistake on an existing nomination. Use Nominate on a Member's Behalf from the Console when you want Rhythm to run the member’s nomination process, including any automatic application and confirmation email.
A nomination that a member saves as a draft in the Portal does not appear here for staff. This form and the Nominations search show only submitted nominations, so you cannot review or correct the nomination in the Console until the member submits it.
Prerequisites
- Permission to create nominations, if you are recording a new nomination.
- Permission to edit nominations, if you are correcting an existing nomination.
- Permission to delete awards, if you need to remove a nomination. Nomination deletion uses the same permission as deleting an award, not a separate nomination permission.
- The nominee must already exist. This form lists only the award’s existing nominees and cannot create a new one. If the candidate does not have a nominee record yet, record the nominee first.
Record a Nomination by Hand
- Go to Awards › <award name> › Nominations.
- Select Manually Create a Nomination.
- Fill in Date: and choose the Nominee:. Both fields are required.
- Choose the Contact: who is nominating. Rhythm fills Nominator/Submitter Organization: from that contact’s organization, and changing the contact replaces any organization you already selected.
- Optionally choose a Process: to file the nomination under. If the award uses categories, choose one or more Recipient Categories:.
- Add Internal Notes and any custom field values, then select Save Changes.
Result
Rhythm saves the nomination and opens its full record. Choosing a Process: only labels the nomination; it does not run that process’s rules or send emails.
Warning
The Nominee: picker lists only nominees for this award. Rhythm loads the first page without indicating whether more nominees exist, so the person you need might not appear on an award with many nominees. If that happens, search for the nominee directly and confirm they are recorded for this award before you try again.
Correct or Remove a Nomination
- Open the nomination from the Nominations search results, or from the nominee’s own record.
- Select Edit to change its date, nominee, nominator, organization, process, categories, or notes, then select Save Changes.
- To remove the nomination instead, select Delete and confirm.
Result
Rhythm saves edits immediately. Deleting a nomination removes only the nomination record; the nominee it named, any categories that nomination gave the nominee, and any application already created all stay in place.
Tip
You can change the nominee, nominator, process, or date on an existing nomination at any time. Rhythm does not limit which fields can change after the nomination is saved.
Why a Save Can Be Refused
Rhythm refuses to save a new or edited nomination when the date, nominee, or nominator contact is missing. Rhythm also refuses the save when a recipient category you chose belongs to a different award. Because the form already offers categories for this award, that category issue normally appears only with older or copied data.
You cannot assign nominations to review buckets or move them between buckets the way you can with applications. Buckets and rounds are part of application review, and nominations do not go through that review, so there is no bucket field to set here.
