A status reason is a short explanation for an application’s status, such as why you declined it or approved it under unusual circumstances. Reasons are not tied to a specific status, so staff see the same list for any status they record.
What It Controls
Status reasons are shared by every award in your Rhythm account. When staff record a decision on an application, they can choose a reason from this list along with the status.
Where to Find It
Go to Setup › Applications › Status Reasons.
Create a Status Reason
- From Manage Application Status Reasons, select Create Application Status Reason.
- Enter a Name: for the reason.
- Leave Status: on to make the reason available right away.
- Select Save Changes.
Result
Rhythm adds the reason to the shared list that every award’s application decisions can use.
Tip
Reason names do not have to be unique. If you create two reasons with the same name by mistake, both remain available, so check the list before you create a new one.
Rename or Deactivate a Reason
Open a reason and change its Name:, or turn its Status: off to stop offering it on new decisions without deleting it. An inactive reason stays on any application that already used it.
Delete a Reason
- Open Manage Application Status Reasons.
- Select Delete on the reason's row.
- Confirm the warning that the deletion cannot be undone.
Warning
Rhythm will not delete a status reason that any application still uses. Deactivate it instead if you no longer want to offer it on new decisions but need to keep it on applications that already have it.
Who Can Do This
Creating, editing, and deleting status reasons is an administrator task.
