You are viewing a page with count tiles, such as the spaces overview or a space's submissions page. One tile may show an older number, spin or stay blank longer than the others, or show an error instead of a number.
Scope
This article applies to count tiles on Submissions overview and list pages. It does not apply to results inside a query or to charts on the Submissions dashboard, which are built differently.
Why One Tile Can Behave Differently from the Rest
Each tile loads its own count through a separate request, independent of the other tiles on the page. That means one slow or failed count will not stop the other tiles from loading, but it also means the page asks for each tile’s count separately every time you open it. For that reason, one tile lagging behind the others is not unusual by itself.
Likely Causes
1. The Count Is Still Being Calculated
Check. If the tile is still loading well after the other tiles have finished, the count behind it may still be calculating.
Fix. Wait and check again, or leave the page and come back. Count times vary because some counts take longer than others depending on what they include. The only way to know whether a delayed count has finished is to ask for it again; Rhythm does not send a notification when the count is ready.
2. The Count Calculation Failed
Check. If a tile shows an error instead of a blank state or spinner, the count failed to calculate. Rhythm does not show a number unless it can confirm the count is correct. If you see a number, even one that looks old, it reflects a real count from the last time that tile was calculated; it is not a placeholder for a failed count.
Fix. Refresh the page, or reopen it, so Rhythm calculates the count again. If the tile shows a number, you usually do not need to do anything unless you believe the number is wrong for a reason other than timing, such as records you expected to be included or excluded.
3. The Number Looks Old
Check. A count tile can show a number that is up to a day old, depending on how often that specific count is recalculated. Compare it with recent activity you know about, such as submissions made today.
Fix. If the tile has a refresh control, use it to ask Rhythm to recalculate the count immediately instead of waiting for its normal schedule.
When to Contact Support
Contact Support if a tile keeps showing an error after you refresh the page more than once, or if one count stays in its loading state for an unusually long time while the other tiles load normally. Include the page you were on, the specific tile, the space if applicable, and roughly when you first noticed the problem.
