If your organization has an embedded analytics dashboard turned on for a page, that page may also let you ask an AI agent questions about the dashboard’s data. You can use plain language instead of reading each chart yourself. This article explains how to open the agent and what it can and cannot do.
Use this when you want a quick, worded answer about your organization’s data on a dashboard page. This does not let the agent build a new dashboard, change anything, or answer questions about content the page is not already showing.
Prerequisites
- The page must have an analytics dashboard configured, and your organization must have turned on the AI agent for that specific page. A page can show a dashboard without offering the AI agent.
- You need permission to use the AI dashboard agent. Your administrator grants this through your Console role.
- Each question uses your organization’s AI credits. There is no separate spending limit; use depends only on whether the agent is turned on and whether you have permission, not on a budget. See Review Your Organization's AI Credit Usage to check how much your organization has used.
Ask the AI Agent a Question
- Open the Rhythm page that has the dashboard you want to ask about.
- Look for the option that opens the AI dashboard agent on that page. The option appears only when your organization has turned it on for the page and you have permission to use it.
- Type a plain-language question about the data the page’s dashboard already shows.
- Read the agent’s answer, then ask a follow-up question if you need more detail.
Result
The agent answers using only the dashboard already configured for that page. It cannot look at other dashboards, use data from other pages, or build anything new. It can only view the dashboard and answer questions in view mode.
What the Agent Will and Won't Do
- It stays confined to the page's own dashboard. You cannot point it at different content or ask it to use anything the page is not already configured to show.
- It can't build. The AI agent and the dashboard builder are separate tools, so asking a question never creates or changes a dashboard. See Build Your Own Dashboards on a Page if you need to build or change one.
- Every question costs a credit. There is currently no separate spending cap beyond the on/off switches and your permission. Repeated questions add up, so check your organization’s usage periodically if cost is a concern.
If You Can't Open the AI Agent
- There's no AI agent option on the page. Your organization has not turned on the AI agent for that specific page, or the page has no dashboard configured. The page needs both before the agent is available.
- You see the dashboard but not the AI agent option. You most likely do not have permission to use the AI dashboard agent, even though you can view the dashboard itself. Ask your administrator to grant it through your Console role.
- The agent gives an answer that doesn't match what you expect. The agent answers only from the dashboard’s own configured data. If a figure looks wrong, check the dashboard itself rather than assuming the agent made an error.
