Signing in is not always the last step before a member opens a portal page. After they sign in, Rhythm checks whether they can view pages connected to their own records. If something needs attention, Rhythm sends them to the page where they can fix it instead of opening the page they requested.

The Four Checks Run in a Fixed Order

Rhythm checks, in order, that the visitor has a linked contact record, that the linked record is active, that their email is verified, and that their profile has been completed at least once. The visitor only sees the first issue that stops them, because Rhythm runs these checks one at a time. After they fix that issue, Rhythm runs the next check instead of showing every problem at once.

Check What happens if it fails
Linked contact is active Refused with this message: "This account is inactive. Please contact the main office to have this account enabled."
Email is verified Sent to verify their email address before continuing
Profile has been completed Sent to complete their contact profile
