The menu under your name in the Console’s top bar controls your Console experience, not the record you are viewing. Use it to change personal switches, restore dismissed tips, work with tasks, change your password, and sign out. This page explains each menu entry, including how to hide figures while sharing your screen and how to show dismissed tips again.
Open the Menu
Go to Top navigation bar › [your name]. The top bar shows your first and last name, plus your picture if your sign-in includes one. The menu opens below your name and closes when you click anywhere else.
The entries appear in this order:
| Entry | Shown When |
|---|---|
| Change My Password | You sign in with a Rhythm password. This entry is hidden when your organization uses single sign-on. |
| Training Exercises | You are working in a training version of your Rhythm account. |
| Create a Task, Task Manager | Tasks are switched on for your organization. |
| Show Inactive Records, Open Apps in Separate Tab, Hide KPIs (Privacy Mode) | Always. These three entries are switches. |
| Reset Tips on this Page, Reset Tips for this App | Always. |
| Log Out | Always. |
If a condition does not apply to you, that entry is hidden, so two colleagues can see different menus. This menu does not include a link to Rhythm Support, the Knowledge Base, or a place to submit product ideas. The Console option for contacting support and submitting feedback was retired, and both types of requests now go through Zendesk. Submit support requests and feature or enhancement requests as Zendesk tickets, mark feature or enhancement requests as such, and submit them while signed in to your own account so they are associated with you.
Turn a Personal Switch On or Off
- Open the menu under your name.
- Click Hide KPIs (Privacy Mode), Show Inactive Records, or Open Apps in Separate Tab.
Result
Your change takes effect immediately on the page you are viewing. A switch that is on shows a green label with a check mark before it. A switch that is off appears as plain text. Each switch starts off.
Here is what each switch does:
- Hide KPIs (Privacy Mode) blurs the figures on key-performance tiles, which are the summary-number tiles shown on some pages. Use it when you want to share your screen without revealing those figures. It blurs only those figures, so names, addresses, and other details stay visible. Check the page before you share it.
- Show Inactive Records includes inactive contacts and organizations in global search. When this switch is off, global search hides those records. See How Global Search Works and What Is Indexed.
- Open Apps in Separate Tab opens links from one application to another in a new browser tab, so your current page stays open. It does not change the application list in the top bar, which always opens applications in the same tab. See Move Between Applications and Recent Records. This switch has been observed to affect the application lozenges shown on a record, such as clicking another application’s lozenge from a contact record. Other cross-application navigation, such as opening a related record from a 360 page, may not behave the same way.
Your Switches Belong to This Browser and Your Rhythm Account
Rhythm remembers these switches in your browser for each Rhythm account you use. The settings follow the browser, not your sign-in, so every switch starts off on another computer. A colleague using the same browser in the same Rhythm account shares your settings. When you switch to your sandbox, you see your sandbox’s settings.
These three switches are the personal display options the Console currently offers. The Console does not have built-in vision accessibility settings for contrast, zoom, or screen readers. Use your browser’s or operating system’s accessibility features for those settings.
Bring Back Tips You Dismissed
Many Console pages show tips, which are highlighted advice boxes with a light bulb. For example, a page might show a warning tip before an advanced setting. A tip can be a short single line or longer guidance that wraps across several lines. When you dismiss a tip with its close cross or with Got it! Don't show me this tip again, Rhythm hides that tip on that page, in this browser and in your current Rhythm account, for a long time.
Rhythm saves each dismissal for one page address. A tip you dismissed on one record’s page still appears on another record’s page, and a tip you dismissed on one computer still appears on another.
To see dismissed tips again:
- Open the page where you want the tips back.
- Open the menu under your name and choose one of these entries:
- Reset Tips on this Page brings back dismissed tips on this page. It also resets tips on pages whose addresses start with this page’s address, such as pages beneath it.
- Reset Tips for this App brings back every tip you dismissed in your current Rhythm account, in this browser. Despite its name, it resets tips in every application, not only the one you are in.
Result
Dismissed tips on the current page reappear immediately. Other pages show their tips again the next time you open them. Rhythm does not show a confirmation message.
Create a Task or Open the Task Manager
When tasks are switched on for your organization:
- Create a Task opens the Create Task dialog. Enter a Task Name:, complete the rest of the form, and save it. Rhythm labels the task with the application you created it from. Some customers have seen a blank dialog when creating or editing a task in Home. Switching to another application, such as Contacts & Organizations, before creating or editing the task has worked around it.
- Task Manager opens the full list of tasks. From there, you can choose a view, search and filter, save your own views, complete tasks, and take tasks from a shared queue. A task assigned to someone else can display Unknown User as the assignee instead of that person’s name. Because this behavior has been observed rather than confirmed as expected, do not treat it as proof that the task is unassigned. The built-in My Open Tasks Assigned to Others view has also been observed to miss tasks you would expect it to show. If it looks incomplete, create and save your own view with the owner set to you and the status set to open instead.
The home page’s Tasks card shows only your five most urgent open tasks, and it also opens the task manager. See Use the Console Home Page. If those two entries are missing, tasks are not switched on for your Rhythm account. See How the Console Decides What You Can See.
Change Your Password
- Open the menu under your name and choose Change My Password.
- In the Change Password dialog, enter Current Password:, New Password:, and Confirm New Password:.
- Choose Change Password. The button reads Changing Password... while Rhythm works.
Result
Password updated successfully. appears, and the dialog closes. Use the new password the next time you sign in.
If a field is empty or the confirmation does not match, a red Form Errors card lists the problem, such as You haven't entered a valid value for Confirm New Password. The button stays unavailable until you fix the error. Rhythm checks the confirmation when you change it, so if you edit New Password: afterward, retype the confirmation too. If Rhythm refuses the new password, Unable to change password appears with the reason. Your entries stay in the dialog so you can correct them. Cancel, the close cross, or Escape closes the dialog without changing anything.
If Change My Password is not in your menu, you sign in through your organization’s single sign-on. Change your password there.
Training Exercises
In a training version of your Rhythm account, Training Exercises opens the training exercises page for the application you are in, when that application has one. In Home, it does nothing, so open it from another application.
Log Out
Choose Log Out to sign out of Rhythm immediately, with no confirmation, and go to the sign-out page. Save first, because anything unsaved on the page is lost. Your recently visited records are still there the next time you sign in.
