When you open Orders & Inventory in the Console, Orders & Inventory › Overview shows recent order and sales figures. If your account has the analytics dashboard feature, you can replace that standard overview with a custom dashboard you build in the embedded analytics builder. After you build it, every staff member sees your custom dashboard the next time they open Orders & Inventory.
Prerequisites
- Your account needs the analytics dashboard feature. This feature depends on two separate account-level requirements working together: a feature flag and a separate Orders & Inventory app enablement. If only one is in place, the dashboard can fail to render. If you do not see the Customize option below, or the dashboard does not appear at all, contact Rhythm Support to confirm that both are enabled for your account.
- You need elevated access to build or change the dashboard. Ordinary staff access lets you view Orders & Inventory, but it does not open the builder.
Where to Find It
Go to Orders & Inventory › Overview, which is the page every staff member sees when they open Orders & Inventory. If your account has the embedded dashboard feature and you have the right access, the Customize button appears.
Building or Changing the Dashboard
- Go to Orders & Inventory › Overview.
- Select Customize.
- Design your dashboard in the builder that opens.
- Select Close when you're done.
Result
Your dashboard replaces the standard Orders & Inventory overview for everyone in your account. Anyone who opens Orders & Inventory › Overview afterward sees your custom dashboard instead of the built-in figures.
Dependencies and Precedence
- A custom dashboard replaces the standard one for your whole account, not just for you. You cannot show the standard dashboard to some staff members and the custom dashboard to others.
- The Customize button is not shown to everyone who can see the dashboard. Staff only need ordinary Orders & Inventory access to view either dashboard, but they need elevated access to build or change it.
- If the dashboard can't be loaded — for example, when the analytics builder is temporarily unavailable — the page shows the standard Orders & Inventory overview instead, without an error message. If your custom dashboard disappears unexpectedly, reload the page before assuming someone removed it.
Change Impact and How to Revert
A custom dashboard takes effect across your account as soon as you close the builder. This article does not establish a way to return to the standard dashboard after a custom one exists, so contact Rhythm Support if you need to revert.
Permissions
Staff only need ordinary Orders & Inventory access to view either dashboard. Building or changing the custom dashboard requires elevated access beyond that. See Orders & Inventory Staff Access Policies for what each ready-made access level grants, and contact your Rhythm account administrator if you need the Customize option enabled for your role.
Validation and Errors
This page does not validate the dashboard when you save because you build and save its content inside the analytics editor, not through a Rhythm form. If Rhythm cannot reach the editor when you select Customize, the button and dashboard behave as though customizing is not available. Try again, or contact Rhythm Support if the issue continues.
