Your association may save more than one payment method for you across the payment processors it uses. Use this page to review your saved cards and bank accounts, and remove any method you no longer want charged.
Prerequisites
You are signed in to the portal. You can see and manage only your own saved payment methods.
View Your Saved Payment Methods
- Sign in to the portal.
- Open the page your association provides for managing saved payment methods.
Result
The page lists the cards and bank accounts saved for you, with details such as the card type and last digits to help you tell them apart.
Tip
If you saved a card but do not see it here, your association may have marked that specific method as unavailable for future use. Those methods do not appear in this list, even though they may still exist with the payment processor. Contact your association if you expected to see one.
Rhythm shows up to 50 Rhythm Payments methods. For methods saved with Stripe, Rhythm shows only the first page of results returned by Stripe. If you have saved a very large number of methods with either processor, the oldest or lowest-ranked methods beyond that limit do not appear in the list.
Warning
Some uncommon payment method types, such as certain regional bank debit types, do not include a clear description. They may display with an unusual or generic-looking name, which reflects how that method type is described and does not mean the method is invalid.
If your association uses Authorize.Net, that processor allows no more than 10 saved payment profiles per person. This is an Authorize.Net limit, not a Rhythm limit. It applies even when this page shows only one or a few saved cards, because the methods Rhythm displays may not match every profile still on file at the processor. If you cannot add a new card because of this limit, remove an older saved card first.
A card saved through the older BluePay processor is stored in a form Rhythm Payments cannot read. If you saved a method with BluePay in the past, treat it as no longer usable and save a new payment method instead.
Tip
Occasionally, a saved card shows null instead of its last four digits. This happens when the payment processor did not return that value while the card was being tokenized. The saved method still works for future charges even when the last four digits do not display. The masked card number shown for a method saved with Stripe is also generated by Stripe, not Rhythm. If you need the exact last four digits used in a specific transaction, you may need to look it up directly in Stripe.
Remove a Saved Payment Method
- On your list of saved payment methods, find the one you want to remove.
- Choose the option to remove it.
Result
The payment method is removed from your saved list and can no longer be charged going forward.
Warning
If you remove a Rhythm Payments card used for a membership, recurring gift, or installment schedule, that recurring charge fails the next time it runs. Move the recurring charge to a different saved card first if you want it to keep working; see Switch Recurring Charges to a New Rhythm Payments Card.
Removing a method saved with Stripe stops it from being available to charge again through your account, but it does not necessarily erase every record of it at Stripe. If your association uses Authorize.Net, you may not see a separate list of your saved cards. Instead, remove an Authorize.Net card from the payment page where you choose or manage a saved card while paying.
If Removal Fails
If a removal does not go through, the message shows the reason the payment processor gave instead of a generic Rhythm message. Read the message before trying again. If it does not make sense or the problem continues, contact your association for help.
