Schools are the organizations your association is accrediting. Because most accreditation work happens one program at a time, Rhythm keeps track of the program you're currently working in and uses that program when you search for or choose schools.
When to Use This
Use this when you know which school you need and want to open its record. This article also explains how staff and other screens let you pick a school. If you have a specific accreditation identifier, such as one from a link someone sent you, you can open it directly and Rhythm will take you to the right place.
Prerequisites
- You need to have a current program selected. If you have not chosen one in this browser for your Rhythm account, Rhythm asks you to choose a program before any Schools screen opens.
- Any signed-in staff member can search for and open schools. You do not need special permission to view a school's page.
Search for a School
- Go to Accreditations › Schools.
- Optionally narrow your search using any combination of these criteria: Current Phase, Status, Status Reason, Expiration, Name, Number, and ID.
- Select Search.
Result
The results list shows each matching school's name, phase, and status. Select the school's name to open its record.
Keep these search details in mind:
- Rhythm automatically limits every search to your current program. You can't search across programs from this screen; to find another program's schools, first switch programs using the (change) link next to Current Program in the page's header.
- Number accepts one value or a range, such as
500or600-700. Because it is a standard field, it stays on this search even if your association does not use it. - Number is a standard search field and cannot be removed from this search screen.
- ID accepts one or more accreditation identifiers, separated by commas or new lines.
- Results appear ten at a time. Select a column header to sort the list by that column.
- This search uses only the built-in fields shown above. You cannot add accreditation custom fields as search criteria here.
Tip
The Recently Viewed Schools panel appears while you set up your search criteria. It lists organizations you've opened recently in this browser, including organizations that are not accredited schools and organizations outside your current program.
Tip
An administrator can see the complete list of built-in fields this search supports in the data dictionary under Security and Settings. Select the Accreditations application, then the search parameters definition for this screen. Adding a field to a search form does not automatically make the search return results for it. A newly added criterion can briefly return "parameter not supported" until the underlying search catches up, even though the field already appears on the form.
Open a School from an Accreditation Link
Some places in Rhythm, such as saved query results, link to a school by its accreditation identifier instead of its name. When you open one of these links, Rhythm shows an in-between page that reads the accreditation, switches your current program to match it, and then sends you to the school's record.
- Select the accreditation link.
Result
Rhythm switches your current program to the accreditation's program, keeps that program in effect for the rest of your session, and opens the school's record.
Where a Program's Schools Appear as a Pick List
In addition to the Schools search, several other forms let you choose from the schools in your current program. You see these lists when you schedule a site visit, create an evaluation, record a report, or set up a billing run. Each list shows only the first page of your program's schools, so a school farther down the list does not appear when a program has many schools. Search directly on the Schools screen when you need the most reliable way to find it.
Tip
If a search on the Number field once returned an error for you, that has since been corrected. The field accepts a plain number or a range like the example above.
If a School Appears in Search but Won't Open
Occasionally, a school or accreditation appears in your search results here, but opening it returns a not-found error, even though you can still find the same record elsewhere in Rhythm. This usually points to an inconsistency in the record's own identifier or internal linkage, not a problem with your search. Contact Support with the record's identifier, because resolving it can require a correction to the record on Rhythm's side.
