Rhythm saves each membership application you start, even if you leave before submitting it. This article shows you where to find those applications in the Portal and what changes after you submit one.
Prerequisites
- You need to be signed in to the Portal.
Find an Application You Started
Your association’s Portal shows the applications you started for yourself. If you act for your organization, it also shows the applications you personally started on the organization’s behalf. You only see your own applications in the Portal, so you cannot view another member’s applications there.
Result
Your applications appear with their current status, so you can return to one you started earlier, including an application you have not submitted yet.
This List Is Yours, Not Your Organization's
If you act for your organization, this list still shows only the applications you personally started. It is not a combined history of every application your organization has had. Contact your association if you need your organization’s full application history.
When you already have a draft for an application path, opening that same path returns you to the existing draft instead of creating another one. To start fresh, delete the existing draft, then start over.
Tip
If you think you submitted the same application more than once, note exactly what you did before contacting your association. Include whether you submitted one application and then submitted a second one, or whether you only saved one application as a draft without submitting it. That detail helps your association confirm whether a duplicate was created or whether one record is still an unsubmitted draft showing as "Not Yet Submitted."
Tip
The name shown on an application comes from the application record itself, not always from the contact the application is for. If you see an unexpected name, or the same details on more than one entry, each entry is still its own application record with its own identifier. Correcting your contact information does not always change what an application you already started displays.
Why You Can't Edit an Application After You Submit It
You can keep changing an application while it is still an unsubmitted draft. After you submit it, the application is locked. You can still open and read it in the Portal, but you cannot change or delete it there. If you try, you see a message with the application’s current status, such as under review or pending approval.
Warning
If you need to change an application after you submit it, contact your association. Staff can edit a submitted application and move it back to draft if they need to reopen it to you.
Your submitted application keeps the form and behavior it had when you submitted it. If your association later changes the application form, such as by removing a component, that change does not apply to applications submitted before the change.
Warning
Canceling the order tied to a submitted application does not let you start a new application for the same path by itself. As long as the earlier application record is still under review, it continues to block a new one. Contact your association if you need that record moved out of the way so you can start over. They can cancel the underlying application record from its own Console record, not just the order.
