Only the built-in Certifications Administrator role can open or change fees and coupons in the Console. This reference shows which fee and coupon setup screens are covered, which role can use them, and what staff see when they do not have that role. Certifications uses the same Console permission model as the rest of Rhythm; see How the Console Decides What You Can See for how refused pages and buttons generally behave.
The Screens This Covers
| Screen | Navigation Path |
|---|---|
| Application Fees list | Certifications › Setup › Applications › Fees |
| Create Application Fee | Certifications › Setup › Applications › Fees › Create Application Fee |
| Course Fees panel | Certifications › Setup › Training › Courses › (course name) › Fees |
| Create Course Fee | Certifications › Setup › Training › Courses › (course name) › Fees › Create Fee |
| Exam Fees panel | Certifications › Setup › Exams › Catalog › (exam name) › Fees |
| Create Exam Fee | Certifications › Setup › Exams › Catalog › (exam name) › Fees › Create Fee |
| Coupons list | Certifications › Setup › Coupons |
| Create Coupon | Certifications › Setup › Coupons › Create Coupon |
| Coupon 360 | Certifications › Setup › Coupons › (coupon name) |
The Setup menu shows Fees under Applications and Coupons at the top level for every signed-in staff member, even when they cannot open the pages behind those menu items. Course and exam fees do not have their own menu items; you open them from the fees panel on the course or exam page.
Who Can Open Them
Only the Certifications Administrator role has the permission these screens check.
| Built-in role | Fees and coupons screens |
|---|---|
| Certifications Administrator | Full access to application, course, and exam fees, coupons, and the codes attached to a coupon |
| Certifications Power User | No access |
| Certifications Day-to-Day User | No access |
| Certifications Read Only | No access |
Warning
No built-in role except Certifications Administrator can see prices or coupons on these screens, even without making changes. Certifications includes separate permissions for viewing coupons and coupon codes, but no built-in role has those permissions and no screen checks them. Because of that, a built-in role cannot provide view-only access to fees or coupons right now.
What Happens Without the Permission
When a staff member does not have this permission, the pages listed above do not open for them. See How the Console Decides What You Can See for the Access Denied wording the Console generally uses on a refused page or button.
Where Else Fees and Prices Appear
Keep these details in mind when you decide who should have this permission:
- Deleting a course or exam fee doesn't need this permission on its own. In a course or exam fee panel, the delete action follows the access that lets the staff member open that course or exam page. It does not use the fees-and-coupons permission described here.
- Other Certifications setup screens can show fee names and prices without this permission. Staff who configure application processes, course offerings, or exam offerings can see the fees attached to those records under those screens' own access controls. That access is separate from the permission covered here.
