Certifications adds a fixed set of query types to the Query Center. This article explains what those query types cover and why your Rhythm account does not define or change them.
What It Controls
This list controls which Certifications questions you can choose in the Certifications Query Center. Certifications includes query types for certifications, applications, activities, credits, courses, exams, registrations, offerings, training providers, and billing actions. Each query type gives you a ready-made starting point with the table, related records you can join, and default columns, before you add conditions and choose fields.
Where to Find It
Go to Certifications › Queries to open the Certifications Query Center. Then use Select Query Type to view the available Certifications query types.
Is This List Something You Can Change?
No. Rhythm sets the Certifications query type list, and every Rhythm account uses the same list. You cannot add, hide, or rename a Certifications query type. You also cannot query a record kind directly if it does not have its own query type in this list, including programs, application processes, instructors, certification profiles, notices, and expiration rule sets.
Tip
If you need to report on a record kind that has no query type, look for it as a related record you can join from an existing query type. For example, you can join a certification to its holder's contact record.
Choose the starting query type based on the records you want in your results, not where you would instinctively look for them. If you want certification-related records for contacts, start from a Certifications query type instead of a Contacts query type. A contact can exist without any certification record, so starting from Contacts can return people who do not have the certification-related record you are trying to find.
Dependencies and Precedence
- Other Rhythm applications reuse this same list. A built-in report elsewhere in Rhythm can call a Certifications query type by name, without needing to know how Certifications stores the underlying data.
- Reaching the Query Center is what your account's permissions control, not each query type individually, as far as the Console is concerned. Once you can open the Query Center, Select Query Type shows every Certifications query type.
Change Impact and How to Revert
There is nothing to change or revert because this list is not a setting your Rhythm account maintains. If Rhythm adds a Certifications query type, it can take a short time to appear everywhere it is used because some parts of Rhythm keep a short-lived copy of the list.
Permissions
You need access to Certifications queries to open the Query Center and see this list.
