Explanation

  • Queries and Saved Queries Explained

A query is a question you ask of your organization's records in an application's Query Center.

  • Query Types and Field Selection

A query type decides which records a query lists and which fields you can filter, show, and sort on.

How-To

  • Design and Run a Query

Start a query from a query type, choose its criteria, columns, and sort in the query designer, run it, and read or download the results.

  • Save a Query and Organize Folders

Save a query so you and your colleagues can run it again, file it in folders, find it through the Query Center's views, and change, copy, move, or delete it.

Settings

  • Query Delivery Schedules

Have a saved query run on a timetable and email its results to a list of people.

Reference

  • Query Criteria and Filter Operators

Every way a query can filter records, from All and Any groups to text, list, range, blank, pattern, and relative-date conditions, with how each treats letter case, blanks, and dates.

  • Query Results: Fields, Sort, Paging, and File Formats

How a query's answer is shaped, from default and chosen columns, headings, names instead of IDs, and one row per list entry, to sorting, paging, and the Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML files you can download.

  • Query Limits and Execution Rules

The fixed limits every query obeys, such as 255 columns and no counting, how long answers and download links last, and how queries are kept to your own organization's records.

Troubleshooting

  • A Scheduled Query Stopped Arriving

A scheduled query email did not arrive or stopped coming.
