If your Rhythm account has an embedded Membership dashboard, you can update its charts from the Membership & Committees Console. This article shows you where to open the builder. For the dashboard view that members and staff normally use, see "See the Membership Dashboard at a Glance" under Related.
Where to Find It
Open the Membership & Committees Console. When the embedded dashboard is turned on and configured for your Rhythm account, it appears on the Overview landing page in place of the built-in count tiles and chart. If you have builder access, you see a Customize button above the dashboard.
Requirements
- Rhythm must have turned on the embedded dashboard for your Rhythm account.
- Your Rhythm account's dashboard must be configured. Until it is configured, the landing page shows the built-in Active Members - Principal, Dropped Members, and Expired Members Receiving Benefits figures, along with the Members by Type chart.
Warning
After the embedded dashboard is enabled and configured, it fully replaces the built-in landing-page figures. You cannot show both at the same time.
Open the Builder
- Open the Membership & Committees Console landing page.
- If your Rhythm account's embedded dashboard appears and you have access to build, select Customize above it.
- Make your changes in the builder.
- Select Close to return to the regular dashboard view.
Dependencies and Precedence
- Your Rhythm account's dashboard permissions control whether you can open the builder. Membership only shows the Customize button on the landing page; your Rhythm account's dashboard settings decide whether the builder opens for you. This works the same way for every application with an embedded dashboard, so Membership does not have its own separate permission for this.
- Changes you make in the builder appear for every staff member in your organization who opens the Membership landing page. Giving one or more people builder access does not change the normal view-only dashboard experience for everyone else; it only adds the Customize entry point for people who qualify.
- A custom metric you configure in the builder can use only your account's existing contact and membership fields. You cannot build a metric from data in another Rhythm application, and the builder does not let you create an entirely new kind of metric from scratch.
- This builder customizes only the dashboard on the Overview landing page. It does not affect the Membership 360 page you open from an individual membership record. That page's layout is fixed today and cannot be customized in Console the way a Contact 360 page can.
Change Impact and How to Revert
Changes you save in the builder take effect for everyone right away. To undo a change, reopen the builder and edit the dashboard back to its previous setup. Rhythm does not provide a separate revert step from the landing page.
Permissions
Your Rhythm account's own dashboard capabilities control access to the builder, not a Membership-specific permission. If Customize does not appear, or selecting it does not open the builder, ask the person who manages dashboard permissions for your Rhythm account to give you access.
