Your account summary in the Portal gives you a quick view of what you owe, any credit you have, what you’ve paid, and which invoices are still open. If you’re signed in as a member, you can see your own summary. If you’re a contact at an organization and your association has given you access, you can also see your organization’s summary.
When to Use This
Use this task when you want to check your balance before it’s due, review your payment history, or look over your organization’s account if you help manage it. To open and pay a specific invoice, see View and Access an Invoice in the Portal and Pay and View Your Payments in the Portal. To review your available credit in more detail, see View Your Credits in the Portal.
Prerequisites
- You must be signed in to the Portal and linked to a contact record.
- To see an organization’s summary, you must belong to that organization and have a contact role that your association allows to view financial history. If the page is not available to you, ask your association to grant that access.
Tip
If you already have an active Rhythm Payments profile, sign in from the payment portal’s own login page and use Forgot Password to recover access instead of asking for a new account invitation.
View Your Own Account Summary
- Go to My Financial Overview.
Result
The page shows your name, followed by tiles for Open Balance, Credit Balance, and Payments. If you have activity in more than one currency, you see one tile for each currency. Below the tiles, you see Open Invoices, Recent Payments, Recent Invoices, and, if you have any, Archived/Older Payments.
- Open Balance shows the total amount due across your open invoices.
- Credit Balance shows the total available credit on your invoices or credits, including credits from overpayments and issued refunds.
- Payments includes every payment on your account, regardless of status, but it does not include older payments recorded outside Rhythm. A card authorization typically appears here as a $0.00 entry. If the same non-zero charge appears more than once, that is not the normal pattern for an authorization, so it is worth a closer look.
- Open Invoices and Recent Invoices link to each invoice’s own page, and Recent Payments links to each payment’s own page.
- Archived/Older Payments, when shown, can display a long payment description with no spaces. That text can visually overlap the Total label in that section, but this is only a display issue; the payment record and total are correct.
View Your Organization's Account Summary
If your association allows organization access, you can also see your organization’s summary.
- Go to Corporate Account Summary.

The page shows the organization’s name, with a link to its parent organization if it has one. It also shows the same tiles and sections as your own summary, totaled for the organization instead of just you. If your association has organization hierarchies with children turned on, you can switch to a child organization.
If your organization is part of a parent-and-child structure, you can move between related organizations:
- Select the parent organization’s name, shown as a link, to see its summary.
- Choose a child organization from the drop-down to see that organization’s summary instead.
In a parent-child relationship, the parent organization is treated as the primary organization. Eligible parent-organization contacts can view a child organization’s open invoices and, with the right permission, pay them as part of managing the relationship. The financial summary for an organization shows invoices billed to that organization specifically. An invoice billed to an individual contact rather than to the organization does not appear there; it appears on that person’s own account summary instead.
If you do not have the right permission at an organization, Rhythm does not show you its financial summary.
Tip
The right to view financial history is separate from the permission needed to pay the organization’s invoices in the Portal. Your association’s administrator decides which contact roles get either right, so ask them if you need access to see or pay on behalf of your organization.
Tip
Pay on behalf of your organization when you’re settling an invoice billed to it. If you pay as an individual instead, the payment follows your own current organization affiliation going forward rather than staying tied to the organization that was actually billed.
If transactions you expect to see for an organization are missing even though your role should let you see them, your Portal profile or access setup may need attention. Ask your association to check your profile.
The Open Balance Alert
Some Portal pages, such as your home page, show a banner that reminds you about unpaid invoices and includes a link to pay them. Your association decides whether to show this banner and where it links. The banner appears only when you personally have at least one invoice with a balance due, and it checks only invoices billed directly to you, not invoices billed to your organization. Being the primary contact on a membership or order is not enough by itself; the invoice record must also have its Bill to Contact set to you before the banner appears for it.
