If you build your association's Portal pages, CRM gives you five ready-made blocks in the page designer's Contacts & Organizations palette. You also get a Contact Profile card for the Account Home page, plus starter feature bundles that can place these items for you. This reference explains what each block does and what it needs.

The Five Page-Designer Blocks

You’ll find these blocks in the Contacts & Organizations category when you open a page in Portals & Microsites › Pages.

Block What it puts on the page Settings
Update Contact Profile Lets a signed-in member update their own contact record Form ID, Route (Success), Route (Cancel)
Update Organization Profile Lets a permitted member update their organization’s record Form ID, Route (Success), Route (Cancel)
Manage Organization Contacts Lists the people in a member’s organization and shows their roles Route (Success), Route (Cancel)
Contact Directory Adds a searchable directory of contacts Directory ID
Organization Directory Adds a searchable directory of organizations Directory ID

While you design the page, each block appears as a plain icon and label. To see the live version, view the page on your Portal.

Tip

The Form ID setting on Update Contact Profile and Update Organization Profile points to a web form your association has already built. For the CRM overview, see Web Forms Explained, and set up the form in Web Forms.

Warning

The page designer does not check these settings while you work. If you enter a Form ID, Route, or Directory ID that does not match anything, the block will not work correctly on the live page, and the designer will not warn you. Test every page on your live Portal or your sandbox before you rely on it. Also, Route (Success) on Manage Organization Contacts has no effect, so leave it blank.

The Contact Profile Card on Account Home

The Contact Profile card shows a signed-in member a summary of their own contact record: photo, name, organization and job title, email address, preferred address, and preferred phone number. It has no settings to configure.

The Feature Bundles

A new Portal site can start from ready-made CRM feature bundles, which add pages and menu entries automatically:

Bundle What it adds
Individual Profile Management An Account Home page with the Contact Profile card, plus a page where members can update their own contact profile
Organization Management A page where a permitted member can update their organization’s profile, plus a page to manage that organization’s people
Contact Directory A page with the contact directory block
Organization Directory A page with the organization directory block

Tip

The Individual Profile Management bundle’s two pages share one menu label, "Manage My Profile." If your site has only one menu item where you expected two, that is why. Add a second menu entry yourself if you want members to reach both pages from the menu.

A web form is a design your organization builds once and Rhythm shows wherever that kind of record is filled in, in the Console and in portals.

Create a form for a record type and design it in the form designer — pages, buttons and conditional page jumps, field groups, tables, text, custom errors, and CSS — then save, test, retire, or delete it, and understand why a save or delete is refused.

  • Configure Portal Sign-Up and Profile Settings

Control whether new Portal sign-ups are matched to an organization by email domain, whether unmatched sign-ups create a new organization, and which profile forms and field locks members see.
