A certification program can use its own page layout and 360° screen design. Use these settings to choose which custom fields staff see when they create or edit a certification, and which callouts appear at the top of that certification’s 360 view.
What It Controls
This setting controls two parts of a program’s certifications: the custom fields on the create-or-edit form, and the callouts at the top of the certification 360 view. It does not change built-in fields such as owner, program, dates, or status. Those fields always use Rhythm’s fixed arrangement, and you cannot change that arrangement from a setup screen.
Where to Find It
Design a certification page layout: Go to Setup › Certifications › Page Layouts. This opens Rhythm’s shared page-layout designer for certification records.
Design a certification 360° screen: Go to Setup › Certifications › 360° Screens. This opens the same shared designer for certification records.
Assign a layout or screen to a program: Assign them on the program’s Create or Edit form, in the Layouts and 360° Screens card. For setup steps, see Certification Programs.
Before you can arrange certification-specific fields in either designer, create those fields under Setup › Certifications › Custom Fields.
The Settings
| Setting | Where it's assigned | Default when blank | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Certification Page Layout | Program's Layouts and 360° Screens card | No layout assigned | The create-or-edit certification form shows the program’s certification custom fields in one built-in “Custom Fields” section, sorted by display order and then name, instead of using a custom arrangement |
| Certification 360° Screen | Program's Layouts and 360° Screens card | No screen assigned | The certification 360 view shows no callouts under its header. All other parts of the 360 page, including its tabs and built-in fields, stay the same regardless of the screen design |
The certification form uses only the first page of a multi-page certification page layout. If the design includes additional pages, they do not appear on the form.
Dependencies and Precedence
- The form only uses the layout for custom fields. Built-in fields such as owner, status, and dates are never affected by the layout design, even if the design includes them.
- The 360 view only uses the screen for callouts. The rest of the 360 page, including its tabs, at-a-glance information, and buttons, stays the same for every program.
- A missing layout or screen is treated as none at all. If a program uses a layout or screen that was later deleted, the certification form and 360 view behave as though nothing was assigned.
- Create mode can show the wrong program's layout. When you create a new certification, the form first loads the layout for the program your browser last remembered, not necessarily the program you choose on the form. If you change the program after the form opens, reopen the form, or set the program first, so the correct layout loads.
Change Impact and How to Revert
When you edit a layout or 360° screen design, the change takes effect immediately for every certification in every program that uses it. There is no separate publish step. To stop using a layout or screen on a program, clear the corresponding field on the program’s form. The certification form and 360 view then return to the built-in arrangement described above.
Permissions
To design certification page layouts or 360° screens, you need administrator-level access to Certifications Setup. To create, edit, or view a certification, you only need the usual permission for that action. You do not need extra permission to see the layout or screen used by the program.
Validation and Errors
You cannot delete a layout or 360° screen while any program still uses it. Clear it from every program that uses it, then delete it.
Rhythm does not translate certification form labels or field values into another language. A visitor’s browser-language setting may translate some of the page for them, but that is not something your account configures. Rhythm also does not guarantee how well a browser translates your content.
Related Tasks
The page-layout designer works the same way across Rhythm, including field groups, columns, per-field settings, and conditional visibility. For those designer details, see Page Layouts. This article explains only how Certifications uses that shared designer for certification records. Certification custom fields must exist before you arrange them, as explained in Custom Fields. To choose which layout and screen a program uses, see Certification Programs.
